MRT has confirmed its intention to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026.<\/p>\n

The North Macedonian broadcaster has confirmed its intention to participate in the 24th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The confirmation comes as MRT published its program plan for 2026.<\/p>\n

In confirming its participation, MRT has highlighted the value that the competition provides for children and the broadcaster. The program plan explains that:<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough JESC, young talents get a unique opportunity to perform on a large international stage, in front of an audience of millions, to work with top professionals and to present their artistic abilities. <\/p>\n

JESC also plays a significant role in the development of the domestic music industry for children: it encourages original song creation, contemporary stage, concepts, multimedia productions and international cooperation. In addition, the event has a great promotional potential through traditional media, digital platforms and social networks, providing visibility for the country and young artists.<\/p>\n

With the continued participation of MRT in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, a permanent educational platform is also being built, through which children learn about teamwork, stage discipline, cultural diversity and media responsibility. This event is much more than a competition \u2014 it is an investment in young generations and their cultural and artistic development.\u201d<\/p>\n

To date, North Macedonia, Poland<\/a>, the Netherlands<\/a> and San Marino<\/a> have commented on potential participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026.<\/p>\n

13-year-old Nela Man\u010deska will represent North Macedonia at the 23rd edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Tbilisi, this December.<\/p>\n

North Macedonia was one of 16 countries to take part in the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003. Marija & Viktorija on the country\u2019s debut with the song \u201cTi ne me poznava\u0161\u201d, finishing 12th with 19 points. North Macedonia\u2019s best result to date is 5th place, which they achieved in 2007 with \u201cDing Ding Dong\u201d by Rosica & Dimitar and in 2008 with \u201cPrati mi SMS\u201d by Bobi Andonov. <\/p>\n
