The annual extravaganza never fails to deliver. But far from bringing frights and scares, Saturday night\u2019s live show saw all of the couples up their game as the Blackpool special moved into touching distance. <\/p>\n
And while they may not have topped the leaderboard, one couple in particular finally proved themselves to be serious contenders \u2013 La Voix and Alja\u017e \u0160korjanec. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s fair to say La Voix hasn\u2019t had the smoothest start in the competition. But I think this can, at least partially, be blamed on the routines and songs she\u2019s been given. In September\u2019s first live show, the RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race UK star immediately proved her comedy chops with an American smooth set to Chappell Roan\u2019s \u201cPink Pony Club\u201d. The routine included a genuinely funny skit midway through as La Voix pushed \u0160korjanec out of the limelight and took centre stage. <\/p>\n
In the weeks since, producers have often relied on La Voix to provide much-needed lighter moments \u2013 but it\u2019s come at a price for her. In week two, her routine hit the same beats as the one prior and week four\u2019s boxing-themed cha cha to Pat Benatar\u2019s \u201cHit Me With Your Best Shot\u201d was nothing short of disastrous. <\/p>\n
Don\u2019t get me wrong \u2013 the RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race star is hilarious and easily the funniest of this year\u2019s Strictly contestants. And there is, of course, a place for comedy on the show. <\/p>\n
