{"id":116309,"date":"2025-11-03T21:53:27","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T21:53:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/116309\/"},"modified":"2025-11-03T21:53:27","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T21:53:27","slug":"social-security-to-send-out-payments-today-monday-nov-3-this-is-whos-getting-a-check","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/116309\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Security to send out payments today &#8211; Monday, Nov. 3: this is who\u2019s getting a check"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Some Americans are due to receive their latest benefits check today, as the Social Security Administration (SSA) issues the next round of payments on its distribution schedule for November.<\/p>\n<p>Who\u2019s getting paid by Social Security today, Nov. 3?Certain long-term beneficiaries<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The SSA is to distribute checks to a particular group of long-term recipients of Social Security: specifically, those who began claiming retirement benefits, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or survivor pay before May 1997.<\/p>\n<p>Beneficiaries who also claim SSI<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Today is also your payment date for retirement, SSDI or survivor benefits if you combine any of these programs with Supplemental Security Income (SSI) &#8211; a scheme for low-income Americans who are over 65 or have a disability. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">November\u2019s SSI money, meanwhile, was due to be issued <a href=\"https:\/\/en.as.com\/latest_news\/social-security-is-to-issue-payments-on-friday-oct-31-this-is-whos-receiving-a-check-f202510-n\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/en.as.com\/latest_news\/social-security-is-to-issue-payments-on-friday-oct-31-this-is-whos-receiving-a-check-f202510-n\/\">on Friday, October 31<\/a> &#8211; a day earlier than usual, as this month began on a Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>How much do recipients of retirement, disability and survivor benefits get?<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Retired workers &#8211; who make up the vast majority of the U.S.\u2019s Social Security recipients &#8211; receive an average of $2,008.31 a month, the SSA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/policy\/docs\/quickfacts\/stat_snapshot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/policy\/docs\/quickfacts\/stat_snapshot\/\">says<\/a>. Disabled workers are paid a monthly average of $1,582.95, while survivor benefits are worth an average of $1,575.30 per month.<\/p>\n<p>How much money do SSI beneficiaries get per month?<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Per the SSA, SSI beneficiaries receive an average of $717.87 a month. The maximum monthly SSI figure available to an individual claimant is $967. Eligible couples can get up to $1,450 per month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Some SSI recipients qualify for a supplementary payment from their state. You can find out which states offer this extra money <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/ssi\/text-benefits-ussi.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/ssi\/text-benefits-ussi.htm\">on the SSA website<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Social Security set to increase benefits amounts<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In October, the SSA <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ssa.gov\/social-security-announces-benefit-increase-for-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/blog.ssa.gov\/social-security-announces-benefit-increase-for-2026\/\">confirmed<\/a> that its benefits recipients will see a 2.8% rise in their monthly checks from January 2026, as part of the agency\u2019s annual cost-of-living adjustment. For Americans on retirement benefits, this will translate into an average increase of $56 per month, the SSA says.<\/p>\n<p>When are November\u2019s other Social Security checks being paid?<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">For retirement\/SSDI\/survivor beneficiaries who don\u2019t belong to the long-term or dual groups of recipients described above, benefits will be sent out on one of three Wednesdays in November.
