{"id":117113,"date":"2025-11-04T08:43:21","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T08:43:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/117113\/"},"modified":"2025-11-04T08:43:21","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T08:43:21","slug":"redmagics-liquid-cooled-gaming-phone-starts-at-749","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/117113\/","title":{"rendered":"Redmagic\u2019s liquid-cooled gaming phone starts at $749"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">The Redmagic 11 Pro is the first phone (outside of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/2\/27\/23615772\/oneplus-11-concept-phone-cooling-mwc-activecryoflux-blue-veins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">OnePlus concept design<\/a>, at least) to feature true liquid cooling, and it\u2019s launching worldwide later this month \u2014 including the US, though you won\u2019t be able to buy it direct from any carriers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">We\u2019ve seen plenty of phones launch with vapor chambers and call it liquid cooling, but the 11 Pro is the first to have liquid coolant actively pumped round the phone\u2019s body to cool the internals. It\u2019s supplemented by a waterproof fan, liquid metal cooling for the CPU, and a vapor chamber too.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">All that cooling tech was built for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/tech\/784997\/qualcomm-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5<\/a> on the inside, plus a huge 7,500mAh battery (though that\u2019s a little smaller than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/801581\/redmagic-11-pro-china-launch-liquid-cooling-8000mah-battery\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">8,000mAh cell on the Chinese version<\/a>). On the outside there are extra LEDs, touch-sensitive shoulder buttons, a headphone jack, and one very welcome touch: camera lenses that are entirely flush with the body.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">It <a href=\"https:\/\/redmagic.tech\/pages\/redmagic-11-pro\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">goes on sale direct from Redmagic on November 19th<\/a>, starting from $749 for the black Cryo finish, but that isn\u2019t the version you\u2019re likely to see all over the place, as it hides the liquid cooling under the surface. If you want to see it in action you\u2019ll need either the black Nightfreeze I\u2019ve been testing or the silver Cryo variant, which have a transparent section that highlights the cooling.
