\n\tOn Friday night, Donald Trump<\/a> threw a Great Gatsby-themed Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago only hours before SNAP benefits expired<\/a> for millions of Americans. Last night, late-night hosts focused their monologues on Trump\u2019s over-the-top f\u00eate, saying it \u201cfelt like the last big bash before the Epstein files come out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJon Stewart<\/a>, speaking on The Daily Show<\/a>, called the party \u201csome Hollywood Babylon shit that once and for all shows that Donald Trump doesn\u2019t give a fuck about even looking like he gives a fuck.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOn the very night SNAP benefits ended, Trump threw a Great Gatsby-themed ode to decadence and hedonism that even Jeffrey Epstein would have thought was a little over the top,\u201d Stewart said. \u201cThere were dancers, costumes, champagne\u2014a wonderful celebration where the theme was apparently gross income inequality. The slogan of the party, as people were losing their food benefits\u2014I shit you not\u2014was \u2018a little party never killed nobody.\u2019 Did you even read The Great Gatsby? Spoiler alert, the party killed somebody.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added, \u201cUsually in a time of national suffering there\u2019s a generally-accepted principle in leadership that you at least pretend to feel the pain of the people that you represent. But this president seems to go out of his way to let struggling Americans know that he is doing very well.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tOn The Late Show<\/a>, Stephen Colbert<\/a> quipped that \u201cno one should understand the importance of daily meals more than Donald Trump.\u201d He added, \u201cHungry is his favorite emotion. It\u2019s his whole thing. Trump and food is like JFK and sex.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tColbert explained that Trump\u2019s Gatsby party was \u201cjust as dumb as you\u2019d expect.\u201d After playing footage of the event, which included a dancer writhing in giant martini glass, Colbert said, \u201cMr. President, come on. There\u2019s a shut down. Read the room. There are people in this country sending their children to bed without a bite to eat or a woman to drink.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> Live, Jimmy Kimmel quipped that the party\u2019s theme is \u201ca theme you would select only if you\u2019d never read The Great Gatsby.\u201d <\/p>\n
