Sometimes, the only winning move is not to play,\u201d Burry said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">In a different post on Tuesday (local time), Burry wrote: \u201cFake news! I am not 5\u20196\u201d (not that there is anything wrong with that). And journalists reporting on 13Fs, none more fake.\u201d (A 13F is a quarterly form that hedge funds file with the SEC, disclosing certain positions.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">Burry could not be reached for comment on Tuesday (local time).<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">His disclosure comes after a strong quarter for Palantir, which has built a niche helping a wide array of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/technology\/artificial-intelligence-new-zealand-firms-embrace-ai-yet-struggle-with-full-integration-and-skills-gap\/E3VFZKFIYJBQHEF6M6T2C7VZUA\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/technology\/artificial-intelligence-new-zealand-firms-embrace-ai-yet-struggle-with-full-integration-and-skills-gap\/E3VFZKFIYJBQHEF6M6T2C7VZUA\/\">companies and government agencies use AI<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">In financial results covering the three-month period ending September 30, the company posted a record US$1.18 billion ($2.087b) in revenue, marking a 63% year-over-year increase, alongside a profit margin of 33%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">In a letter to shareholders on Monday (local time), Karp attributed the company\u2019s growth to \u201cvoracious\u201d adopters of artificial intelligence in the United States, whose use of AI language models is \u201creordering human life\u201d through \u201ca ruthless pragmatism\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cThis ascent has confounded most financial analysts and the chattering class, whose frames of reference did not quite anticipate a company of this size and scale growing at such a ferocious and unrelenting rate,\u201d Karp wrote. \u201cSome of our detractors have been left in a kind of deranged and self-destructive befuddlement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img  alt=\"Nvidia and Palantir have surged 45% and 150% respectively this year. Photo \/ Getty Images<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">Both Palantir and Nvidia have been beneficiaries of a historic investment boom around artificial intelligence, with their stock prices surging about 150% and 45%, respectively, since the start of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">Some leading investors have warned that the market could be primed for a correction at a time when it is heavily dependent on a few names in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/topic\/big-tech\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/topic\/big-tech\/\">Big Tech.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">Two leading investment bank CEOs \u2013 Ted Pick of Morgan Stanley and David Solomon of Goldman Sachs \u2013 said at the Global Financial Leaders\u2019 Investment Summit in Hong Kong overnight that a \u201cdrawdown\u201d is likely in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cWe should also welcome the possibility that there will be &#8230; 10 to 15% drawdowns that are not driven by some sort of macro cliff effect,\u201d Pick said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">Solomon said he generally advises his clients to stay invested rather than try to time the market, adding that such pullbacks are part of a normal investment cycle. Others believe the rally still has a way to go.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZzQnbEvs\" style=\"display:none\">Dan Ives, a technology analyst with WedBush Securities who has been bullish on tech stocks, likened Burry\u2019s position to \u201cyelling fire in a crowded theatre\u201d, arguing that both Palantir and Nvidia have shown strong financial results.
