Pets around the country are chilling out to RNZ’s annual Guy Fawkes Night Concert for Animals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All the music has been chosen to calm pets inside on Guy Fawkes night in case they’re spooked by the loud noises and flashes of light.<\/p>\n

The show will include music written for animals such as ‘Mina’ by Edward Elgar for his beloved Cairns terrier. ‘The Swan’ from Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Sa\u00ebns and ‘Scene by the Brook’ from Beethoven’s Pastoral. We haven’t forgotten farm animals either, with ‘Sheep May Safely Graze’, by Johann Sebastian Bach.<\/p>\n

\nThis is Nellie from Eastbourne. A month ago she got spooked by a freak, ferocious thunderstorm. She was then missing for nearly 2 weeks in the bush in the hills behind Eastbourne. We are very lucky she came back though exhausted and very thin. We are anxious to prevent another escape as she also hates fireworks, so she\u2019s listening to the special concert programme.

\nHazel the cavoodle and feline brothers Jack and Alex. Their owner says all have been pacing, vocal and anxious during the fireworks. I\u2019ve now got your relaxing music playing in our room and it\u2019s let Hazel cuddle up and relax. Alex has joined us to listen and relax too. Hopefully Jack will join us for cuddles and calmness soon.
