Since the beginning of 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/worldanimalnews.com\/2025\/07\/25\/195-rhinos-have-been-killed-by-poachers-in-south-africa-in-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">195 rhinos have been killed<\/a> by poachers in the country. The good news is that this number is a slight drop from the same period in 2024. But for a critically endangered species, every single unnecessary death is devastating to the population.<\/p>\n<p>Since poached animals are often trafficked internationally, one country can&#8217;t solve this issue alone. The United Nations Development Programme must dedicate more energy and resources to addressing the poaching crisis at a global level!<\/p>\n<p>Sign the petition to tell the United Nations Development Programme: prioritize and fund international anti-poaching efforts before it is too late!<\/p>\n<p>The South African government has demonstrated a commitment to protecting rhinos with the Rhino Renaissance initiative. But rhinos are still poached almost daily, and the country can&#8217;t tackle this problem alone.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, rhinos have rebounded in South Africa and elsewhere in the past. A century ago, the white rhino was nearly extinct. But this took careful effort by governments.<\/p>\n<p>We must ensure every rhino is protected &#8212; for the rest of this year and future years to come! The United Nations Development Programme must prioritize and fund international anti-poaching programs!
