State Highway 1 near Invercargill is closed after a water truck rolled and took out a power pole.<\/p>\n
A Fire and Emergency spokesman said they responded to the crash, in Longbush, at about 2.30pm.<\/p>\n
The driver had managed to get out of the vehicle before crews arrived.<\/p>\n
Crews were working alongside PowerNet to secure the scene until the power lines could be isolated.<\/p>\n
A police spokesperson said SH1, between\u00a0Kennington Roslyn Bush Rd and the Grove Bush-Woodlands Rd intersection.<\/p>\n
No injuries were reported but ambulance services were called as a precaution.<\/p>\n
The road would remain closed while contractors repaired the electrical damage.<\/p>\n
A detour is in place by motorists are advised to expect delays, the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
One person with minor injuries was assessed and treated at the scene, a Hato Hone St John spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
