Eurovision Song Contest, Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) chairman Roland Weissmann visited Israel for meetings with President Isaac Herzog and senior executives of the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, Kan.<\/p>\n<p>Kan said in a statement that both public broadcasters were working together to ensure Israel\u2019s participation in the competition, amid objections raised by several European countries \u2014 including Spain, Ireland and Slovenia \u2014 over Israel\u2019s inclusion.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"gelleryOpener\" aria-label=\"open article gallery\" chairman Roland Weissmann and President Isaac Herzog (center) and Kan senior executives <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEurovision will mark its 70th anniversary next year, and Israel is an inseparable part of the contest,\u201d Weissmann said during his meeting at the President\u2019s Residence in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p>President Herzog emphasized the importance of maintaining Kan\u2019s editorial and operational independence as Israel\u2019s public broadcaster.<\/p>\n<p>Kan CEO Golan Yochpaz said there was \u201cno justification for excluding Israel from Eurovision,\u201d stressing that Kan \u201chas consistently complied with all EBU regulations and will continue to do so in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following the ceasefire in Gaza, the scheduled vote on Israel\u2019s participation \u2014 which had been expected to determine whether the country would be allowed to compete \u2014 was canceled and replaced with a discussion session in December.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources familiar with the process, the risk of Israel\u2019s disqualification has now largely passed, and the country is expected to take part in the 2025 Eurovision Song
