With The Running Man due to be released in cinemas this week, anticipation is building for the eagerly-awaited remake of the iconic ’80s action film. To mark the occasion, we now have a final trailer, and fans are going wild.<\/p>\n

The film<\/a>, which is based on Stephen King’s 1982 novel of the same name, follows Ben Richards (Glen Powell) as he embarks on a deadly mission to save his daughter, who is gravely ill. <\/p>\n

Needing money fast, Ben agrees to take part in a game show, which rewards winners with $1 billion. He has to survive on the run for 30 days, with professional assassins hunting him down \u2013 can he do it?<\/p>\n

Edgar Wright’s film<\/a> is the second adaptation of King’s novel following the 1987 project starring Arnold Schwarzenegger<\/a>, with producers hoping it brings in big crowds when it releases later this week. <\/p>\n

To increase the excitement, Paramount Pictures have released a new one-minute trailer, with the action depicting Ben’s efforts to rally enough people around him to defeat the establishment once and for all. <\/p>\n

The comment section on YouTube<\/a> was filled with plenty of excited fans, with one user writing: “Edgar Wright + Glen Powell? That\u2019s an instant win. The energy in this trailer is unreal!”<\/p>\n

“Watching it on Friday, can’t wait, love Edgar,” commented another user, while a third wrote: “Richard Lives! This is probably for me one of the best action movies of the year. Edgar Wright with his typical style on full display.”<\/p>\n

In addition to Powell, the stacked cast for the film<\/a> includes Josh Brolin, Michael Cera, Lee Pace, William H Macy, Emilia Jones and Colman Domingo, with the latter playing television presenter Bobby T. <\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy<\/a>, Domingo shared that he modelled his portrayal on talk show host Jerry Springer, explaining: “I just liked the way he incited his audience in a way, but he still felt non-complicit.<\/p>\n

“He felt like, ‘I’m going to let people do what they need to do, the show must happen’, and then he slept well at night. I feel like that was very much Bobby T,” continued the actor, who will soon appear in Wicked: For Good<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The Running Man is in cinemas on 12 November in the UK and 14 November in the US.<\/p>\n
