{"id":132263,"date":"2025-11-13T03:18:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T03:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/132263\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T03:18:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T03:18:11","slug":"newjeans-to-return-to-label-ador-after-careful-discussion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/132263\/","title":{"rendered":"NewJeans to Return to Label Ador &#8216;After Careful Discussion&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAll five members of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/newjeans\/\" id=\"auto-tag_newjeans\" data-tag=\"newjeans\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NewJeans<\/a> announced this week that they will return to their record label Ador, ending a lengthy legal battle where the K-pop group attempted to cut ties with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/hybe\/\" id=\"auto-tag_hybe\" data-tag=\"hybe\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hybe<\/a> subsidiary and rebrand as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/njz\/\" id=\"auto-tag_njz\" data-tag=\"njz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NJZ<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn June, a Seoul, South Korea high court ruled in favor of Ador, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/newjeans-must-honor-contract-court-rules-appeal-1235367496\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ordering NewJeans to honor the contract<\/a> that would keep the group tied to the record label until 2029. NewJeans \u2014 Hyein, Haerin, Hanni, Danielle and Minji \u2014initially said they would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/newjeans-loses-record-label-contract-lawsuit-ador-1235456789\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">appeal<\/a> the court\u2019s ruling, but have instead opted to return to Ador.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tEarlier this week, Ador announced in a statement that Hyein and Haerin\u00a0\u201chave decided to continue their activities\u201d with the label. \u201cAdor is committed to providing its full support to Haerin and Hyein to ensure the seamless continuation of their artistic endeavors,\u201d the label said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe fate of the other three members was decided Wednesday, as Hanni, Danielle, and Minji announced in a separate statement that \u201cafter careful discussion,\u201d they too would rejoin Ador, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cd9k54yejxjo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the BBC reports<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tTheir decision \u201cwas relayed late as one member is currently in Antarctica, but as ADOR is not responding at the moment, we are inevitably announcing this through a separate statement,\u201d the three members said. \u201cWe will continue greeting you with sincere music and performances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tNewJeans announced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/newjeans-announce-split-from-label-hybe-ador-1235186128\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">their decision to leave ADOR last year<\/a>\u00a0and revealed their new name NJZ in February 2025; the group was in the midst of a seven-year exclusive contract with ADOR when they announced their plans to exit the label.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe K-pop group previously argued to the court that the departure of former ADOR CEO Min Hee-Jin \u2014 with whom they signed their contract \u2014 as well as feeling neglected and unsupported by the label were grounds to leave the HYBE subsidiary.
