After popular investor and hedge fund manager Michael Burry sounded the alarm<\/a> over an AI bubble forming, a popular economist has gone ahead and warned investors about a crypto bubble ahead too.<\/p>\n

Burry, founder of Scion Asset Management, gained popularity when he correctly predicted the housing market collapse in 2007-08 and\u00a0shorted subprime mortgages.<\/p>\n

The event that led to the 2008 financial crisis in the U.S. and then spread across the globe is the subject of the Hollywood film\u00a0The Big Short (2015), in which actor Christian Bale played Burry.<\/p>\n

However, the 2008 housing market collapse isn’t the only episode when Burry shorted overvalued sectors, sensing bubble bursts ahead. For instance, he\u00a0shorted overvalued tech stocks before the dot-com bubble crash in 2000.<\/p>\n

He also issued warnings against\u00a0the passive ETF \u201ceverything bubble” in 2019 and\u00a0meme stocks and crypto leverage in 2021.<\/p>\n

Now, Burry has cautioned against an AI bubble forming and, in particular, singled out\u00a0Nvidia (Nasdaq: NVDA), Meta\u00a0(Nasdaq: META),\u00a0Oracle\u00a0(NYSE: ORCL), and Palantir Technologies (Nasdaq: PLTR).<\/p>\n

Following Burry’s warning, economist Peter Schiff<\/a> has warned<\/a> about a crypto bubble ahead.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0longtime Bitcoin critic and co-founder of Euro Pacific Asset Management, he said\u00a0Bitcoin HODLers and crypto investors will suffer “staggering” losses.<\/p>\n

“More money will be lost in this bubble than was lost when the dot-com bubble popped.”<\/p>\n

An “even bigger” AI bubble is going to burst anyway, he added.<\/p>\n

Recently, he said that the entire crypto sector is getting “decimated” and the “carnage is far from over.”<\/p>\n

“Sell Bitcoin now!”<\/p>\n
