{"id":133441,"date":"2025-11-13T19:28:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T19:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/133441\/"},"modified":"2025-11-13T19:28:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T19:28:07","slug":"ducati-not-the-only-problem-warning-issued-by-one-motogp-star","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/133441\/","title":{"rendered":"Ducati \u201cnot the only problem\u201d warning issued by one MotoGP star"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KTM\u2019s Pedro Acosta says Ducati is \u2018not the only problem\u2019 in MotoGP now, as other manufacturers have closed the gap going into 2026.<\/p>\n<p>As the 2025 season draws to a close, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/ducati-lenovo-team\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ducati<\/a> ends it having swept to all three world titles, including total domination in the riders\u2019 and constructors\u2019 standings.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the GP25 proving inconsistent for the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/911999\/francesco-bagnaia\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pecco Bagnaia<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/995149\/fabio-di-giannantonio\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fabio Di Giannantonio<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1654\/marc-marquez\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marc Marquez<\/a> won 11 grands prix and 14 sprints on his way to the title, while the GP24 has four wins to its credit from 22 rounds.<\/p>\n<p>Ducati has faced stiffer opposition from Aprilia as the season has gone on, however, while Honda and KTM have made steps towards consistent podium challenges.<\/p>\n<p>When asked on Thursday at the Valencia Grand Prix if he thought KTM could fight with Ducati in 2026, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1040772\/pedro-acosta\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pedro Acosta<\/a> replied: \u201cWhat is clear, we cannot really know the steps, but we are not really good enough.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is true is that, now, not only Ducati is the problem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow Aprilia is really strong, Honda looks like it\u2019s coming.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKTM was improving from the summer break to here.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor this, it looks like now the championship is much closer between manufacturers. As a result, there\u2019s not only one problem now; it\u2019s like four.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Acosta sets \u201cno expectations\u201d as win drought nears second full year<\/p>\n<p>This weekend\u2019s Valencia finale marks the last chance for Acosta to end his wait for a maiden MotoGP victory, as KTM\u2019s drought extends to 2022.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>MotoGP\u2019s last visit to Valencia in 2023 saw KTM duo Jack Miller and Brad Binder fight for the win before crashing.<\/p>\n<p>But Acosta is keeping his feet on the ground when asked if he views Valencia as an opportunity to win.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, to be honest, there\u2019s not a lot of expectation around,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s true that the last time MotoGP raced here in 2023, Jack was super competitive, also Brad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPol [Espargaro]] was taking the first KTM podium here in Valencia [in 2018, in the wet].<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s see how I feel tomorrow when I go out with the bike.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen, let\u2019s see if we can work on the problems around.
