There is something undeniably joyful about watching two artists at the top of their game share a moment of genuine friendship. Hours after the 2026 Grammy nominations were revealed, Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter were photographed together in New York, looking relaxed, celebratory and very much in sync. It was the kind of quiet evening that says more about their bond than any red carpet appearance ever could.

Pop superstars enjoy a night out in New York

The pair spent their Friday night at The Corner Store, a cosy spot in Soho known for its warm atmosphere and understated charm. No fanfare, no entourage parade – just two friends catching up over dinner after a career defining day.

Taylor, ever the fashion enthusiast, arrived in a striped Thom Browne polo paired with an asymmetrical wool skirt from the same designer, finishing the look with striking red Gucci slingbacks. The whole ensemble was the sort of bold yet polished style she has been leaning into lately. Sabrina, ten years her junior, opted for a modern fairytale vibe with black low heel pumps that gave her an elegant, almost cinematic silhouette.

The smiles, the relaxed posture and the warm conversation caught by onlookers suggested a celebration in its simplest form – not the loud kind, but the kind centred on connection.

A night of well earned celebration

Sabrina Carpenter had every reason to raise a glass that evening. Her album Man’s Best Friend earned an impressive six Grammy nominations, placing her just behind Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga in total nods. The categories were nothing short of prestigious: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Music Video, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance.

For an artist still in her twenties, the recognition is extraordinary. It echoes what the Recording Academy has often emphasised in recent years – that genre blending, emotionally honest pop is shaping the cultural landscape in a big way.

Her nominated track Manchild faces stiff competition in the Song of the Year category, up against hits from ROSÉ and Bruno Mars, Bad Bunny and several rising stars associated with major film soundtracks. Yet the buzz surrounding her work suggests she is far from an underdog.

Friendship at the forefront

What stood out most that evening was not the fashion or even the nominations, but the sense of mutual admiration between the two singers. Taylor Swift has long been known for supporting younger artists – something industry observers, including the BBC and Rolling Stone, have highlighted as one of her defining traits. Sabrina, who opened for Taylor during the Eras Tour, has spoken openly about the mentorship and kindness she received along the way.

Watching them together, away from the pressures of the spotlight, felt like a quiet tribute to the women in music who lift one another up, especially during moments of triumph.

Looking ahead to the Grammys

With the ceremony still months away, anticipation is building for what promises to be a competitive and emotionally charged night. Fans are already wondering whether Sabrina will take home her first set of trophies – and how many. Taylor, who is no stranger to Grammy success, appeared genuinely delighted for her friend, adding a heartwarming layer to an already newsworthy evening.

Whether they toasted with champagne or simply enjoyed a peaceful dinner remains unknown. But one thing is clear: the 2026 Grammy season has begun with celebration, solidarity and a friendship that feels refreshingly real.

There is something undeniably joyful about watching two artists at the top of their game share a moment…

[28
156,157,111,139,69
post-139085","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-music","tag-entertainment","tag-music","tag-new-zealand","tag-newzealand","tag-nz
["GET
