{"id":142008,"date":"2025-11-18T23:46:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T23:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/142008\/"},"modified":"2025-11-18T23:46:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T23:46:08","slug":"woman-charged-over-fatal-hit-and-run-victims-name-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/142008\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman charged over fatal hit and run, victim&#8217;s name released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police have named the man <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1news.co.nz\/2025\/11\/16\/person-dead-in-overnight-hit-and-run-in-aucklands-henderson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">killed in a hit and run<\/a> in Auckland&#8217;s Henderson last weekend, and a woman has been arrested and charged over the incident. <\/p>\n<p>The victim was 58-year-old Dion Raymond Kainamu. <\/p>\n<p>Emergency services were called to the intersection of Tango Pl and Larnoch Rd at around 2.50am Sunday after a &#8220;person was located injured on the road&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p>It was alleged a vehicle struck the man and fled the scene. <\/p>\n<p>Detective Senior Sergeant Ryan Bunting said a woman was arrested at West Auckland address on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A 47-year-old Henderson woman is currently facing charges of failing to stop or ascertain injury, as well as two counts of driving while disqualified,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are not seeking anyone else in connection with this matter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Police said their investigation into the death was ongoing and thanked members of the public for their assistance. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text-greyDarkFaded\">The morning&#8217;s headlines in 90 seconds, including \u2018helpful information\u2019 comes to the Marokopa investigation, weather warnings in place, and a step towards the Epstein files being released.
