More than 80,000 power banks sold online at Amazon.com and in-person at other major retailers are being recalled<\/a> for fire and burn hazards. <\/p>\n

Last week, the Consumer Product Safety Commission<\/a> issued a recall of more 83,500 Belkin power bands sold across the U.S. after receiving 15 international fire reports, one fire report in the U.S. and two minor burn injury reports. <\/p>\n

In one case, property damage as a result of the malfunctioning power bank totaled $37,765. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe lithium-ion battery in the power banks and charging stands can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers,\u201d the recall states<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cConsumers should immediately stop using the recalled power banks and charging stands and contact Belkin to receive a full refund or store credit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Products were sold at Best Buy, Target, Walmart and other stores nationwide, as well as online by retailers Belkin.com, Amazon.com and TikTok. <\/p>\n

They were sold between August 2020 and August 2025 ranging from $29 to $180. <\/p>\n

The recall involves phone-charging stands with model numbers MMA008 printed on the bottom of the stand. <\/p>\n

It also includes power banks with model numbers BPB002 and PB0003 which are printed on the back, top of the power bank. <\/p>\n

Customers who have any of the recalled products are advised to immediately stop using them and contact Belkin to receive a full refund. <\/p>\n

Customers are asked to submit photos showing the front and back of the product as well as a recall submission form. <\/p>\n

\u201cDo not throw this recalled lithium-ion battery or device in the trash, the general recycling stream (e.g., street-level or curbside recycling bins), or used battery recycling boxes found at various retail and home improvement stores,\u201d the recall reads. <\/p>\n

\u201cRecalled lithium-ion batteries must be disposed of differently than other batteries, because they present a greater risk of fire.\u201d<\/p>\n

The recall advises customers to follow local guidelines for disposing of the lithium battery products such as municipal household hazardous waste collection centers. <\/p>\n
