One thing not coming up, however, is a crossover between 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Nashville. Despite <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/news\/911-crossover-911-nashville-abc-oliver-stark-photo-1235485370\/\">his recent trip to Music City<\/a>, Stark confirms that no crossover has been shot\u2026yet.<\/p>\n<p>BONUS SPOILER!: Though Buck will forego a costume this Halloween, the rest of the 118 will not disappoint. \u201cThere is maybe my favorite costume that we\u2019ve ever had on the show,\u201d Stark teases.<\/p>\n<p>RETURN DATE: Thursday, Oct. 9, at 8\/7c (ABC) \u2014 Andy Swift<\/p>\n<p>\tAbbott Elementary<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"203\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/abbott-elementary-season-5.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"\"  \/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tImage Credit: Courtesy of Disney\/Gilles Mingasson\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Attention, class: There will be some big changes on ABC\u2019s schoolhouse comedy in Season 5, with a group of new teachers joining the faculty. That spurs an identity crisis in Janine, executive producer Patrick Schumacker tells TVLine: \u201cShe starts to kind of question, when younger teachers come in, what her role is, now that she is not the spring chicken she once was.\u201d She\u2019s still happy with Gregory, though, and their relationship gives them both a chance to grow as people this season. \u201cI think a relationship is also a good way for them to learn about themselves,\u201d EP Justin Halpern says:. Ava will explore a surprisingly sweet romance with IT guy O\u2019Shon as well, but don\u2019t expect it to turn her into a big softie, Halpern says with a laugh: \u201cWe always like to keep Ava as Ava, and Ava is a bit of an agent of chaos.\u201d Plus, Barbara will be \u201creinvigorated\u201d by running the school\u2019s music class. \u201cWe wanted to find something to kind of give her a new lease on life,\u201d Schumacker says, \u201cor at least a new lease on her career. And yeah, she\u2019s found that in the music class, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BONUS SPOILER!:\u00a0We\u2019re getting another Christmas episode this season, and it\u2019s a big one, Schumacker hints, calling it \u201ca very consequential episode for our school, and for the daily lives of the people at\u00a0Abbott.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>RETURN DATE:\u00a0Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 8:30\/7:30c (ABC) \u2014\u00a0Dave Nemetz<\/p>\n<p>\tBrilliant Minds<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"203\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/brilliant-minds-season-2.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"Brilliant Minds Season 2\"  \/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tImage Credit: Courtesy of NBC\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>After a slight time jump, Season 2 will open with Oliver \u201cdeep into\u201d the questions raised <a href=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/recaps\/brilliant-minds-oliver-father-alive-season-1-finale-recap-mandy-patinkin-1235396507\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/recaps\/brilliant-minds-oliver-father-alive-season-1-finale-recap-mandy-patinkin-1235396507\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in the cliffhanger involving his recently resurfaced father<\/a>, Noah, and the elder Wolf\u2019s troubling illness, says series creator\/executive producer Michael Grassi. \u201cThe way it plays out is the most surprising version of it possible and really sends Wolf on his season arc, which is a new mystery that I can\u2019t spoil too much.\u201d Also an enigma: Dr. Amelia Frederick (played by Scandal\u2019s Bellamy Young), the clinical director for a long-term mental health facility who, Grassi previews, will \u201creally feel like she\u2019s going toe-to-toe with Wolf in an interesting way you won\u2019t necessarily expect.\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=X0TXorG1GBo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The trailer<\/a>, released after our chat with the show boss, certainly backs that up.) Another new face, neurology resident Dr. Charlie Porter (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin\u2019s Brian Altemus), will bring some \u201cinteresting conflict\u201d to the \u201cloving dynamic\u201d among Wolf\u2019s group of interns, the EP adds: \u201cHis approach to medicine is a little bit different from our other characters.\u201d (And he has seeeecrets, <a href=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/casting-news\/brilliant-minds-season-2-cast-additions-john-clarence-stewart-1235471360\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">we have learned<\/a>.) Wolf will hit another emotional speedbump when the season premiere reveals that his bestie, Dr. Carol Pierce, is no longer working at Bronx General. \u201cWe find her in a surprising place,\u201d Grassi says, chuckling, and Oliver \u201chas big feelings about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BONUS SPOILER!: Wolf let Nichols down big-time by skipping that black-tie event (with good reason, but still!), but the way Grassi talks about the couple in Season 2 puts us as ease. The dating docs \u201cwill address things head-on, early on,\u201d Grassi says. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of great stuff between them \u2014\u00a0I would say, even more than last season \u2014\u00a0and it\u2019s juicy, and it\u2019s good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>RETURN DATE: Monday, Sept. 22, at 10\/9c (NBC) \u2014 Kimberly Roots<\/p>\n<p>\tChicago Fire<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"203\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/chicago-fire-fall-preview.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"\"  \/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tImage Credit: Courtesy of NBC\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>How will our favorite #OneChicago besties Mouch and Herrmann handle their new power dynamic in Season 14 now that Mouch has taken over as lieutenant? Showrunner Andrea Newman says the new situation will require some adjustment, which will bring about \u201csome of the biggest challenges to that friendship.\u201d Ultimately, it\u2019s Herrmann who will struggle the most with the new world order, as he deals with his own issues, which will add even more fuel to the flames of that friendship. (Yes, pun intended \u2014 this is a show about fire!) Fans of the show know that Herrmann has already had his fair share of rough patches, but according to Newman, Season 14 will deliver \u201cone of his most challenging personal crises he\u2019s ever dealt with\u2026 and how much Mouch can help, or can\u2019t help, is a big part of it.\u201d On the bright side, the layoffs and brownouts hitting Firehouse 51 will actually light a \u201cfire under everybody\u2019s ass,\u201d the EP previews, and will set up some soapy fun as surprise visitors pass through to lend a hand.<\/p>\n<p>BONUS SPOILER!:\u00a0Newman says\u00a0the #OneChicago team is planning on delivering mini-crossovers between two shows in the franchise \u201ca bunch of times\u201d this season, with Novak \u201ccrossing over a bunch with\u00a0Med\u00a0for\u00a0intriguing\u00a0reasons.\u201d Consider us intrigued!<\/p>\n<p>RETURN DATE:\u00a0Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 9\/8c (NBC) \u2014 Claire Franken<\/p>\n<p>\tChicago Med<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"203\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/chicago-med-fall-tv-preview.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"\"  \/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tImage Credit: Courtesy of NBC\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Good news,\u00a0Chicago Med\u00a0fans: We will not have to wait long to learn who Hannah\u2019s baby daddy is. Showrunner Allen MacDonald shares that the Season 11 premiere will pick up almost exactly <a data-id=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/interviews\/chicago-med-recap-season-10-finale-dean-father-hannah-baby-1235451592\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/interviews\/chicago-med-recap-season-10-finale-dean-father-hannah-baby-1235451592\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">where we left off during Hannah and Archer\u2019s conversation<\/a>, so we \u201cwill find out who the father is one way or the other.\u201d And don\u2019t worry, regardless of whether you\u2019re #TeamArcher or #TeamRipley, MacDonald thinks you\u2019ll come around to the paternity reveal. MacDonald does, however, get a bit cryptic when discussing Hannah\u2019s pregnancy in more detail. \u201cIt is a storyline we\u2019re gonna track through most of the season,\u201d he reveals, but \u201csometimes pregnancy news changes\u2026 You\u2019ll notice I didn\u2019t say they\u2019re going to\u00a0have\u00a0the baby.\u201d (!) Once we get the baby-daddy news, the series will jump ahead two months where we\u2019ll find Ripley and Sadie still together and in a good place. Nothing between them is official, but Ripley definitely wants to lock things down. (How might this budding relationship factor into the baby-daddy drama? MacDonald can\u2019t say!)\u00a0Also, have you heard? <a data-id=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/casting-news\/chicago-med-nick-gehlfuss-returning-will-halstead-season-11-1235493028\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/casting-news\/chicago-med-nick-gehlfuss-returning-will-halstead-season-11-1235493028\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Halstead will be back this season<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>BONUS SPOILER!:\u00a0Goodwin is certainly \u201cnot licking her wounds\u201d after breaking things off with Dr. Washington, the EP says. Plus, her surprise visit with ex-husband Bert in the Season 10 finale was just a tease for what\u2019s to come next; we\u2019ll be seeing more of Bert \u2014 who, per MacDonald, \u201cwill always be home\u201d to Goodwin \u2014 and the rest of her family in Season 11.\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>RETURN DATE:\u00a0Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 8\/7c (NBC) \u2014 C.F.<\/p>\n<p>\tChicago P.D.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"203\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/chicago-pd-fall-tv-preview.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"\"  \/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tImage Credit: Courtesy of NBC\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Season 13 picks up one month after <a data-id=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/interviews\/chicago-pd-recap-season-12-finale-reid-dies-killed-1235451650\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/interviews\/chicago-pd-recap-season-12-finale-reid-dies-killed-1235451650\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the events of the finale<\/a>, showrunner Gwen Sigan says, when Chapman is no longer answering Voight\u2019s calls and she stops \u201cshowing up within our unit like she used to.\u201d For Chapman, \u201call hope is lost\u201d for a possible romance with Voight, though the pair tries to remain professional amid this shift in their relationship. Meanwhile, the rest of the team faces the fallout of Voight\u2019s finale drama as they begin to come to terms with the ways he crossed the line. \u201cWe find our unit really scattered. They\u2019re disbanded,\u201d Sigan shares. On top of all that, Torres is still in the dark place where we left him, though Sigan assures us he is seeking \u201cnew purpose, a new level of fulfillment and a new level of something that can provide him steadiness.\u201d But we couldn\u2019t let Sigan go without getting her to share a piece of brighter news:\u00a0Ruzek and Burgess are still in the honeymoon phase and remain the unit\u2019s \u201csolid rock.\u201d (Thank God!)<\/p>\n<p>BONUS SPOILER!:\u00a0Now that we can\u2019t really \u2018ship Voight and Chapman, buckle up for new romantic possibilities. Sigan teases plenty of fun romantic entanglements with \u201ca little bit of weirdness\u201d and a lot of guest-star interactions, and she specifically teases some fun exploration on the horizon for both Atwater and Torres.<\/p>\n<p>RETURN DATE:\u00a0Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 10\/9c (NBC) \u2014 C.F.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe Diplomat<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"203\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/the-diplomat-season-3-preview-netflix.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"The Diplomat Season 3\"  \/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tImage Credit: Courtesy of Clifton Prescod\/Netflix\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Season 2 of the Netflix political thriller <a href=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/features\/the-diplomat-season-2-recap-ending-explained-1235373470\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">left us dangling on a huge cliffhanger<\/a>, with the president dying and Allison Janney\u2019s VP Grace Penn in line to become commander-in-chief. Season 3 will pick up right where we left off, showrunner Debora Cahn assures TVLine: \u201cWe always think we\u2019re going to do time jumps on this show, and then we just never do them, because we\u2019re in a situation that I want to see every second of. So it\u2019s a direct pickup.\u201d Janney is joined this season by her\u00a0West Wing\u00a0co-star Bradley Whitford, who plays Grace\u2019s husband Todd Penn, and through their relationship, Season 3 explores \u201chow another couple deals with the kind of professional limitations that this world puts on a marriage,\u201d Cahn teases. Kate, meanwhile, has to deal with the fallout of \u201cmore or less calling Grace a war criminal\u201d last season, Cahn notes: \u201cThe relationship, put simply, is in a very bad place.\u201d But despite all that animosity, Kate\u2019s husband, Hal, is still pushing for Kate to get that VP slot this season, Cahn reveals: \u201cThis scenario does not slow him down at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BONUS SPOILER!:\u00a0After airing just six episodes in Season 2,\u00a0The Diplomat\u00a0is thankfully back to eight episodes this season, and \u201cit creates a little bit more breathing room\u201d to explore personal relationships. \u201cIt\u2019s nice to be able to bring the narrative to a point where things have settled enough for people to just step back, take a breath and try to figure out where they are in the world and in their own lives,\u201d Cahn says.<\/p>\n<p>RETURN DATE:\u00a0Thursday, Oct. 16 (Netflix) \u2014\u00a0D.N.<\/p>\n<p>\tDoc<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/doc-2x02-amy-joan.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"Doc Season 2\"  \/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tImage Credit: Courtesy of Fox\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Now that Dr. Amy Larsen has reclaimed her career \u2014\u00a0and\u00a0perhaps rekindled things with Michael \u2014 the question before her is: \u201cWhat do I want out of the rest of my life? And how can I get that when my personality is split\u00a0between two time periods?\u201d says executive producer Hank Steinberg. \u201cDesperate\u201d\u00a0to get her memory back, Amy finds some success on that front, \u201cbut in a way that\u2019s\u00a0very mysterious and incomplete,\u201d the EP teases. Among other Westside Hospital staff, \u201cJake is not going down without a fight\u201d after spying Amy smooching her ex-husband; TJ (promoted series regular Patrick Walker) deals with \u201cpretty dramatic stuff\u201d in the premiere; Sonya will develop a new, \u201cjuicy\u201d antagonism with Amy; and Gina must answer for her patient causing the Season 1 finale\u2019s train derailment. As for the disgraced Dr. Richard Miller? We\u00a0will\u00a0see Scott Wolf again, Steinberg affirms, \u201cbut it\u2019s a 22-episode season, so people will have to be patient.\u201d<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>BONUS SPOILER!:\u00a0Amy might assume it\u2019ll be smoother sailing when her mentor, played by Desperate Housewives\u2018 Felicity Huffman, replaces Richard as Chief of Medicine, \u201cbut Dr. Joan Ridley has other ideas, ambitions for herself,\u201d Steinberg previews. \u201cShe\u2019s not there to hold Amy\u2019s hand.\u201d<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>RETURN DATE:\u00a0Sunday, Sept. 14, following the NFL double-header (Fox); the episode will air again (in its regular time slot) on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 9\/8c \u2014\u00a0Matt Webb Mitovich<\/p>\n<p>\tElsbeth<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"203\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/elsbeth-season-2.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"Elsbeth Season 2\"  \/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\tImage Credit: Courtesy of CBS\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>When Season 3 opens, Carrie Preston\u2019s titular crimesolver will have just returned from a visit to Scotland \u2014 \u201cWe hope to see Angus (Ioan Gruffud) again, but that remains to be seen,\u201d says showrunner Jonathan Tolins \u2014 and \u201cthe precinct is still under budget pressure from above.\u201d With Carra Patterson\u2019s Kaya now assigned to a task force in D.C, \u201cwe are developing a fun stable of uniformed officers who work on different cases with Elsbeth,\u201d says Tolins, though \u201cit is definitely still an adjustment for Elsbeth.\u201d In addition to the usual weekly parade of guest stars (including Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris and Andy Richter), \u201can interesting, new New York character\u201d will be introduced a few episodes in, for an ongoing storyline, says Tolins. Her fate remains \u201cvery much a question mark,\u201d showrunner Mike Weiss tells TVLine, and won\u2019t be resolved quickly. \u201cWe definitely want to make you wait\u201d for answers, the EP teases. So for Marie and the other so-called bad guys, \u201cit\u2019s almost not even about clearing their names as it is about figuring out how to live in this new world order.\u201d A major question being explored this season is: \u201cWhen you\u2019re living in Nazi Germany at the beginning of Nazi Germany, what are regular people like? Do you just sort of put your head down and don\u2019t make any waves? Do you join them, or do you fight?\u201d There\u2019s also a mini version of that new world order at school, which is now overseen by Dean Cipher (played by Hamish Linklater), who brings a \u201cdelicious weirdness and complete unpredictability to all of their lives.\u201d Andre, played by the late, great Chance Perdomo, will also factor into the events of Season 2, a storyline producers handled with great care. \u201cIn order to honor the person that Chance was, we have to treat this like what it is, which is grieving someone who is gone,\u201d Fazekas says. \u201cBut how do you fit that very real emotion into the world of this show? You do it the way people fit grief into their lives. It\u2019s tricky because he comes in and is assumed to be a threat. He\u2019s their new boss. What\u2019s his agenda?\u201d To the fans already predicting an office love triangle between Jesse, Morgan and Karadec, Harthan says, \u201cYou know Morgan\u2019s point of view on bosses, so if that happens, it\u2019s going to be tricky and laced with landmines. But unexpected chemistry is interesting to me.\u201d Meanwhile, this season\u2019s increased episode count will afford viewers more time with Morgan\u2019s coworkers as the show \u201cpeels back the layers\u201d of Daphne, Oz and Soto. And despite Taran Killam joining a new NBC comedy, Ludo will appear \u201cin a similar capacity\u201d as he did in Season 1. While Nader is hesitant to reveal Riley\u2019s career path, she will say this much: \u201cIt\u2019s something that will involve what she loves the most and keep her near the garage. To that end, Season 5 will reveal a bit about why Jackson Lamb (played by Gary Oldman) is the way he is \u2014 \u201cnot to the point that he loses his superpowers, by any means, but just to the point that it gets a bit richer,\u201d Metzstein reassures us. \u00a0The rest of Slough House are, of course, still traumatized by the events of the Season 4 finale, which included Marcus\u2019 death. But that won\u2019t stop them from some serious disbelief when tech whiz Roddy Ho announces he\u2019s got a hot new girlfriend. \u201cThe lovely thing is, the reaction they all have is that they know this cannot be right,\u201d Metzstein says, laughing. \u201cThey\u2019re not happy for him or anything.\u201d About the woman in question: \u201cIf you\u2019ve ever watched a spy program at some point, something is going to happen so that Ho\u2019s girlfriend is not what she seems, and Ho\u2019s relationship is not what it seems.\u201d And if you were worried that River\u2019s decision to put his grandfather in an assisted-living facility would take Jonathan Pryce\u2019s character out of play, fear not. \u201cDavid Cartwright plays quite a significant part\u201d in the episodes to come, Metzstein promises.<\/p>\n<p>BONUS SPOILER!: How about two tantalizing tidbits? Even before the Season 4 finale, co-creators the Duffer Brothers promised TVLine that the ending of the beloved sci-fi\/horror\/comedy\/drama \u201cis <a href=\"https:\/\/tvline.com\/interviews\/stranger-things-season-5-spoilers-time-jump-1234836421\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pretty well mapped out<\/a>\u201d \u2014 and aside from writing off adorkable Argyle, they haven\u2019t let us down yet. He has everything.\u201d And that bit in the trailer where Kevin Pollak\u2019s Agent Musso informs Dwight \u201cI own you\u201d? \u201cA phenomenal twist in the never-ending saga,\u201d executive producer David Glasser says with a laugh. \u201cTrouble always finds Dwight!\u201d Make that troubles, plural, including the \u201cTyrant of Tulsa\u201d Jeremiah Dunmire, played by 1923\u2019s Robert Patrick. \u201cDunmire is somebody who, much like Dwight, is an earner, is scary and believes that, with power and muscle, you win,\u201d the EP says. \u201cThat, for Dwight, could be kryptonite.\u201d (He also teased a run-in with someone in Dunmire\u2019s family and one of Dwight\u2019s crew.) Season 4 also will see the much-heralded introduction of Samuel L. With our heroes having said au revoir to France in Season 2, \u201cSpain is a completely alien environment \u2014 new geography, architecture, culture, history \u2014 and the characters we meet are very vibrant and different from what we had in France. We really lean into that to make the show feel new.\u201d Even Melissa McBride\u2019s iconic counterpart is ready to wipe the slate clean. \u201cShe was a real trauma hoarder,\u201d the EP says. \u201cBut there is a burden that\u2019s been lifted off of her shoulders and an openness to life\u201d that points her in newcomer Antonio\u2019s direction. \u201cThat relationship develops and grows.\u201d We also have to look forward to a star turn by the estimable Stephen Merchant (The Office\u2019s Emmy-winning co-creator). \u201cWe were sitting there, pie-in-the-sky thinking our dream casting for the role of Julian would be him,\u201d Zabel admits. \u201cBut because I\u2019m not always the most positive person, I said, \u2018There\u2019s no way we\u2019ll get him.\u2019\u201d And yet, they did. Despite its original plan to keep Sherlock Holmes physically out of John Watson\u2019s story, in Season 2 the CBS drama will introduce the legendary detective (played by Once Upon a Time\u2019s Robert Carlyle). \u201cIt\u2019s gonna be a really cool, unique dynamic that honors the canon, but it\u2019s not quite something that anybody\u2019s seen before,\u201d series creator Craig Sweeny tells us. Holmes \u201chas come back with a new dynamic to their relationship, and it\u2019s a challenge to Watson,\u201d he explains. \u201cAnd Robert plays that really, really well.\u201d Holmes\u2019 presence will force Watson to confront a secret about his past that the official synopsis notes is \u201chidden within his own body,\u201d which made us think that Moriarty\u2019s medical messing-around last season might still be afoot. Sweeny says that\u2019s not the case, cagily adding: \u201cSeason 2 is the story of Watson\u2026 learning to be a patient.\u201d As for Watson\u2019s team: Adam finds out he\u2019s going to be a father, Ingrid will eventually make her way back to the clinic, and Sasha and Stephens are still going strong. \u201cThey have a surprisingly vigorous and healthy sex life, which we explore,\u201d Sweeny notes, chuckling.<\/p>\n<p>BONUS SPOILERS!: Shinwell is a nursing student when the season premiere picks up roughly six months after the event of the finale. \u201cThe fact that he\u2019s doing that, and he\u2019s doing his rounds around the hospital, it lets us work him into the stories in a slightly different way,\u201d Sweeny says.
