The surprise resignation of Marjorie Taylor Greene reverberated through Saturday, as figures from across the political spectrum gave responses ranging from criticism to acclaim<\/a>, including Donald Trump, who hinted at a future political career for her.<\/p>\n

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Democratic congresswoman and Greene\u2019s frequent sparring partner, criticized her voting record on healthcare and claimed \u201cShe\u2019s carefully timing her departure just 1-2 days after her pension kicks in\u201d, adding: \u201c\u2026 her actions have not backed up the rhetoric. For all her talk, she\u2019s still voting with them to gut healthcare \u2026 \u201d<\/p>\n

Greene voted in the summer for cuts to Medicaid and the reduction of enhanced tax credits for the Affordable Care Act, but then in October criticized the ACA cuts as premiums soared.<\/p>\n

Kentucky Republican congressman Thomas Massie, who has also taken public stands against Trump including over the Epstein files release, said<\/a> on X that he was \u201cvery sad for our country but so happy for my friend Marjorie. I\u2019ll miss her tremendously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Greene said in her resignation video that she refused to be a \u201cbattered wife\u201d after her public fallout with Donald Trump<\/a>, but the president suggested to NBC News that he would like to see Greene resume her political career.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not going to be easy for her\u201d to revive her career in politics, he said, adding: \u201cI\u2019d love to see that.\u201d In the meantime, \u201cshe\u2019s got to take a little rest\u201d.<\/p>\n
