Celebrity gardener Jamie Durie is back on Nine tonight with a new series taking direct aim at Australia\u2019s housing pressures, opening the doors to a three-month building race that puts bold construction methods to the test.<\/p>\n
Jamie Durie returns to screens with Jamie Durie\u2019s Future House, a series that follows three families as they partner with builders, designers and innovators to create homes designed to be sustainable, cost-effective and built at speed. According to the production, each home uses a different modern construction method intended to act as a real-world blueprint for future Australian housing.<\/p>\n
The program tracks the full build of each property over just three months, with the families navigating the practical hurdles of construction, including weather setbacks, council processes, deadline pressure and costs.<\/p>\n

Away from the competition, the series also steps inside Durie\u2019s own rural property, where he, partner Ameka, and their children Beau and Nash are attempting a 3D-printed concrete home described as a world-first design.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is more than just a TV show, it\u2019s a mission,\u201d Durie said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are in the middle of a housing crisis and Australians are desperate for solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The builds will be assessed by the Green Building Council of Australia alongside Federal Minister for Housing, Homelessness and Cities, Ms Clare O\u2019Neil, with one property ultimately named Australia\u2019s \u201cFuture House\u201d.<\/p>\n
