\u201cThere are good movies, there are great movies, and then there are movies that deliver joy to every bone in your body. One Cut of the Dead is all of those and more.\u201d I wrote that back in 2018 after seeing<\/a>\u00a0the unconventional, brilliant zombie comedy by Shin\u2019ichir\u014d Ueda<\/a>, and now, seven years later, I feel the exact same way. It\u2019s the type of movie you want to experience again and again.<\/a> The type of movie you yearn to proudly put on your wall. And now, Mutant is letting you do that, in a very twisty, One Cut of the Dead kind of way.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Mutant continues its celebration of the 10th anniversary of the horror streamer, Shudder<\/a>, with this wild poster for One Cut of the Dead by artist 100% Soft, and io9 is excited to exclusively debut it. 100% Soft, real name Truck Torrence, is a favorite here on io9<\/a> because\u00a0his distinct, kawaii-inspired style makes him so perfect for so many different franchises. He\u2019s done Marvel<\/a>, he\u2019s done Star Wars<\/a>, and you\u2019ve probably seen his Dumpster Fires at some point. But to do a found-footage Japanese zombie comedy? That\u2019s a weird pairing. Which is why it works so beautifully.<\/p>\n

\u201cWatching One Cut of the Dead for the first time is such a joyous, curious, confusing experience, I wanted to find a way to honor that with this poster,\u201d Torrence told io9 via email. \u201cIt\u2019s a movie about the agony and ecstasy of making movies, and I tried to capture that feeling of creative chaos in the composition.\u201d<\/p>\n

That piece surely does capture the \u201ccreative chaos\u201d of the film, choosing all of our favorite moments and putting them into a single image. It\u2019s a lovely tribute to an absolutely incredible film. One that you have to see to believe.<\/p>\n

One Cut of the Dead by 100% Soft will be available on Tuesday, November 25, at noon ET on madebymutant.com<\/a>. It\u2019s an 18 x 24 inch screenprint in an edition of 90. It costs $60.<\/p>\n
