Since then, the character has appeared in 2017\u2019s Thor: Ragnarok, 2018\u2019s Avengers: Infinity War, 2019\u2019s Avengers: Endgame, 2021\u2019s Spider-Man: No Way Home, and 2022\u2019s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Additionally, Cumberbatch has voiced different versions of Doctor Strange in the animated What If\u2026? series.<\/p>\n<p>What did Benedict Cumberbatch say about Doctor Strange\u2019s MCU future?<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with <a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/benedict-cumberbatch-doctor-strange-mcu-return-update-avengers-secret-wars-rumors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Collider<\/a>, Cumberbatch said that he now \u201chas more than a sense\u201d of what Doctor Strange\u2019s future looks like in the MCU than he did before. He also said that fans \u201cdefinitely will\u201d see the sorcerer again in the future.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate conversation with the <a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/gb\/podcast\/benedict-cumberbatch\/id1521578868?i=1000737016278\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">SmartLess<\/a> podcast, via <a href=\"https:\/\/comicbookmovie.com\/doctor-strange\/doctor-strange-star-benedict-cumberbatch-may-have-just-confirmed-his-next-mcu-appearance---possible-spoilers-a225089\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ComicBookMovie<\/a>, Cumberbatch seemed to tease that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/avengers-secret-wars\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Avengers: Secret Wars<\/a> might be Doctor Strange\u2019s next MCU appearance, as he said, \u201cThere are other huge commitments involving cloaks floating about [next year].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s possible that Cumberbatch could have been referring to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/avengers-doomsday\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Avengers: Doomsday<\/a>, as that will likely have reshoots in 2026; however, given that it\u2019s a \u201chuge commitment,\u201d it seems more plausible that he\u2019s referring to Avengers: Secret Wars, as that is expected to be filming next summer.<\/p>\n<p>At this time, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.superherohype.com\/tag\/marvel-studios\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marvel Studios<\/a> has not officially confirmed Cumberbatch\u2019s casting in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars, though fans have highly speculated that Stephen will show up at some point, especially given the role that Strange plays in Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribi\u0107\u2019s Secret Wars comic book series. That said, plot details for both movies remain under wraps at this time.<\/p>\n<p>Avengers: Doomsday will be released in United States theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
