The state government has unveiled a new Centre for Entrepreneurship<\/a> in Kalaburagi<\/a> under its flagship Local Economy Accelerator Programme (LEAP).<\/p>\n

The Rs 1,000 crore, five-year initiative aims to invigorate regional entrepreneurship, decentralise innovation, and bolster economic growth across the state\u2019s emerging tech clusters, an official statement said.<\/p>\n

The Centre for Entrepreneurship is set for a formal launch in January, marking a significant step towards ongoing entrepreneurial advancement in Kalyana Karnataka.<\/p>\n

Set up in collaboration with the KrishiKalpa Foundation, the centre aims to enhance the innovation ecosystem in the Kalyana Karnataka area, with a particular emphasis on agriculture, rural innovation, and emerging technologies. The Kalyana Karnataka region consists of the Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadagir, Raichur, Koppal, Ballari, and Vijayanagar districts.<\/p>\n

The Kalaburagi district administration has designated 15,000 sq. ft. of ready-to-use workspace as a dedicated hub for startups, agripreneurs, innovators, and other ecosystem stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The centre will employ a framework focussed on mentorship, market access, and money access, providing comprehensive support through incubation, acceleration, capacity building, and entrepreneurial development. Additionally, a prototyping lab will be available for startups to design, build, and test innovations locally, significantly minimising infrastructure and market-entry barriers.<\/p>\n

Panchayat Raj and IT\/BT minister Priyank Kharge said Kalaburagi has vast potential in rural Karnataka, a region where over 70% of the labour force is engaged in agriculture. \u201cThrough LEAP and this Centre for Entrepreneurship, we are reducing the rural-urban divide by directly bringing technology and innovation to our communities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Karnataka\u2019s IT-BT sector crossing Rs 1.5 lakh crore and LEAP expected to generate five lakh jobs, this centre will energise Kalaburagi\u2019s youth to pursue sustainable livelihoods in agritech and deeptech,” he added.<\/p>\n

IT\/BT department secretary N Manjula said LEAP seeks to extend innovation beyond Bengaluru, leveraging the region’s agricultural strengths and emerging tech potential.<\/p>\n

KrishiKalpa Foundation CEO CM Patil pledged his commitment to empowering local youth and building an inclusive, future-ready entrepreneurial ecosystem.<\/p>\n
