Kate Beckinsale\u2019s visit with Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> came with a medical mystery, birthing one of the most memorable interviews on Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a> in recent memory. \u00a0<\/p>\n Beckinsale served as Kimmel\u2019s lead guest on Monday to promote her new film Wildcat. But any planned promotion for the film quickly fell by the wayside as the English actress dropped a wild anecdote about a man in her life who, she says, biologically lays eggs.<\/p>\n The moment came as Beckinsale recounted how her daughter\u2019s boyfriend has been a welcome distraction during a \u201ctough couple of years\u201d that saw both of the actress\u2019 parents pass away. \u201cLiterally the only bright spot in the whole time came from him,\u201d Beckinsale said in a heartwarming moment.<\/p>\n She then casually explained: \u201cHe laid two eggs in a week, is what the bright spot was.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWho did?\u201d a dumbfounded Kimmel replied. \u201c\u2019He laid two eggs in a week,\u2019iIs that a British thing I don\u2019t know about?\u201d<\/p>\n While a non-plussed Beckinsale barreled on with extemporaneous details, Kimmel struggled to wrap his head around the basic facts of the anecdote. <\/p>\n \u201cCould we rewind for just a moment?\u201d he asked, focusing first on how \u2014 meaning, from which orifice \u2014 the eggs in question exited this man\u2019s body. It was a rare moment in which the host seemed caught in his tracks, not unlike Jimmy Fallon\u2019s now-infamous interview<\/a> with Nicole Kidman.<\/p>\n The gist of Beckinsale\u2019s story: After using the bathroom, her daughter\u2019s boyfriend found an egg amongst his stool \u2014 shell, yolk and all. Beckinsale considered he might be pulling a prank to detract from the family\u2019s hard times, but the man seemed genuinely shaken. Then it happened again.<\/p>\n \u201cI got very involved in this,\u201d Beckinsale told Kimmel, \u201cbecause I really did need a distraction.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou need a distraction? I am completely now\u2014\u201d Kimmel quipped before turning to the audience. \u201cThere will be no other topics, by the way.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n The clearly giddy Kimmel kept his calm throughout the interview, at least until Beckinsale mentioned that she had photos of the eggs on her phone. Despite being unable to show the audience, Kimmel insisted on seeing the photos privately on air, inviting sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez<\/a> over for his own peek.<\/p>\n Beckinsale and Kimmel went on to discuss theories about the eggs, and Kimmel encouraged viewers to chime in. \u201cWhat I would like to happen now\u2026.
