David Letterman<\/a> on Tuesday reacted to Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s repeated social media attacks against \u201cLate Night<\/a>\u201d host Seth Meyers<\/a>, including the president\u2019s calls for NBC to\u00a0\u201cIMMEDIATELY<\/a>\u201d fire the comedian this month.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought, \u2018This is just delightful, let me \u2014 how do you think that\u2019s going to go?\u2019\u201d said Letterman of Trump\u2019s request\u00a0in a clip shared to his YouTube page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo anyway, I\u2019ve never been more proud of Seth Meyers. … He does a magical job. But just remember, Seth, things happen!\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Trump took aim at Meyers<\/a> for mocking his\u00a0complaints<\/a>\u00a0about \u201ccatapults\u201d on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, writing on his Truth Social platform<\/a> that the comedian was a \u201ctruly deranged lunatic\u201d and \u201c100% ANTI TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Days later, Meyers\u00a0directly responded to Trump\u2019s attack<\/a>\u00a0with a supercut that tore apart the president\u2019s claim that he \u201cendlessly\u201d discussed catapults.<\/p>\n

Nearly two weeks later, Trump\u00a0reignited his beef<\/a> with Meyers after NBC seemingly aired a rerun of the episode with the catapults jokes.<\/p>\n

Meyers again\u00a0used his show to respond to Trump<\/a>\u00a0by joking that the president can\u2019t \u201cget mad a second time for the same thing when it\u2019s in a repeat\u201d episode.<\/p>\n

Letterman \u2014 who\u00a0went to bat<\/a> for his friend, Jimmy Kimmel, in September after ABC indefinitely suspended his show following Trump administration threats \u2014 took on the president again on Tuesday after his former \u201cLate Show\u201d producer, Barbara Gaines, referred to the president\u2019s recent \u201cpiggy\u201d insult<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh man, just a wonder of idiocy. It\u2019s just fantastic, it knows no bounds,\u201d Letterman said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s never-ending, he\u2019s our current \u2014 he\u2019s our dictator. He\u2019s not going anywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
