Dax Shepard<\/a> opened up about his holiday decorating plans, joking that wife Kristen Bell<\/a>\u2019s success has changed how they do things.<\/p>\n

During a joint appearance on the Tuesday, November 25, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>, Shepard, 50, was asked by Jimmy Kimmel, 58, if he and Bell, 45, had already put up their Christmas lights.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is true,\u201d the \u201cArmchair Expert\u201d podcast host confirmed before Kimmel asked whether the couple string lights up themselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did,\u201d Shepard said. \u201cAnd then my wife made too much money and now I don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shepard\u2019s remark, which nodded to the success of Bell\u2019s Netflix comedy series Nobody Wants This<\/a>, of which she stars in and executive produces, drew laughter from Bell before Shepard couldn\u2019t help cracking up, too. (Nobody Wants This was renewed<\/a> for a third season on November 4.)<\/p>\n

The Parenthood alum, who shares two daughters, Lincoln, born in 2013, and Delta, born in 2014, with Bell, has publicly thrown his support behind his wife in the past. In July, when Bell was nominated for an Emmy thanks to her season 1 performance as fictional podcaster Joanne in Nobody Wants This, Shepard cheekily praised her achievement via social media.<\/p>\n

Sharing an Instagram photo<\/a> of Bell doing a handstand without any clothes on (albeit bright-colored socks), Shepard captioned the post, \u201cPeople might not know everything that happens behind the scenes in order to create an Emmy nominated performance like Kristen\u2019s. This may or may not have been a part of her training, but it felt right. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJust because Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are two of the funniest people in Hollywood doesn\u2019t mean they don\u2019t endure the same relationship struggles as any other couple. The Veronica Mars alum and Parenthood actor \u2014 who tied the knot in October 2013 and share two daughters, Delta and Lincoln \u2014 have been open and [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

The pair have long celebrated one another via their individual Instagram accounts, however not all posts from the couple have been met with praise. A polarizing anniversary post<\/a> shared by Bell in October divided fans due to a caption penned by Bell that read, \u201cHappy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: \u2018I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I\u2019m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would,\u2764\ufe0f.\u201d<\/p>\n

While some followers commented on the post\u2019s heartfelt intentions, others criticized the message. \u201cWhat a wild thing to post during Domestic Violence Awareness month,\u201d one follower wrote in the comments section at the time.<\/p>\n

The controversy led to Bell briefly limiting comments on her social media activity, however she restored the functionality before long.<\/p>\n

Bell and Shepard\u2019s talk show appearance also revealed that they will spend the holiday season at a house they own in Nashville. \u201cWe\u2019re going to spend Christmas there and Thanksgiving,\u201d Shepard told Kimmel before revealing how the family turned the property into a \u201cwinter wonderland\u201d by recruiting the help of a close friend who fell off the roof while helping the couple fulfill their decorating dream.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur contractor was there and photographed the whole thing,\u201d Shepard said. \u201cSo we have great photos. We\u2019ll think of it this Christmas as we\u2019re enjoying the lights. He went way over the top \u2026 he was there for days just chucking [lights] all over the property. It would take him two weeks to take them down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Added Bell, \u201cThe house looks like it\u2019s on colorful fire. It\u2019s so bright.\u201d<\/p>\n
