\n\tAfter speculation arose about Ed Sheeran <\/a>potentially leaving his home in England for the United States, the singer made things crystal clear in a post to his Instagram Stories<\/a> on Tuesday (Sept. 9). <\/p>\n

\n\tDuring his Sunday appearance on The 2 Johnnies Podcast<\/a>, Sheeran made an off-hand comment about making a move to America, and how that seemed to go against the trend of celebrities leaving the U.S. for other countries. \u201cI\u2019m just about to move to America,\u201d he told the hosts. \u201cI feel like I might be the only person moving\u00a0to\u00a0America. I\u2019m going on tour there for a while and I have a family, so I can\u2019t dip in and out. We\u2019re going and settling there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile some news outlets and fans took this news to mean that Sheeran was permanently leaving his home in England, the singer told fans in his Wednesday post that the move was only temporary. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWay easier to clear up stuff on here so here\u2019s me setting the record straight, coz there\u2019s deffo a narrative press are trying to push that people wanna move out of the UK for some reason,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI\u2019m not moving, I\u2019m going on tour with my family and relocating to the continent I\u2019m touring on, don\u2019t wanna commute from London to San Diego obvz.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added that the speculation about his move potentially being due to \u201ctaxes\u201d was false. \u201cAlso this isn\u2019t a tax thing, it\u2019s USA not UAE,\u201d he wrote. \u201c[I\u2019ll] always pay tax in uk coz that\u2019s where I live.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Sheeran is currently planning for his upcoming Loop Tour<\/a> through Europe and Australia, the singer has yet to announce any North American tour dates tied to his new album Play (out Friday, Sept. 12). <\/p>\n
