\n\tThe Folio Society is marking Jane Austen<\/a>\u2019s 250th birthday with a collector\u2019s edition fit for a literary icon. On Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. ET, the London-based publisher will release \u201cJane Austen: The Complete Novels,\u201d <\/a>a six-volume limited edition of Austen\u2019s major works, capped at just 750 copies worldwide.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe release gathers all six of Austen\u2019s beloved novels \u2014 \u201cSense and Sensibility,\u201d \u201cPride and Prejudice,\u201d \u201cMansfield Park,\u201d \u201cEmma,\u201d \u201cNorthanger Abbey\u201d and \u201cPersuasion\u201d \u2014 in an elaborate set. Each volume features woodcut frontispieces and Regency-inspired illustrations by printmaker Sarah Young. Each copy also comes with a new introduction by historian and broadcaster Lucy Worsley exploring Austen\u2019s world and cultural influence. \n\tAusten\u2019s novels have inspired some of the most enduring film and television adaptations of the last half-century, from Ang Lee\u2019s 1995 \u201cSense and Sensibility\u201d starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, to Joe Wright\u2019s 2005 \u201cPride & Prejudice\u201d led by Keira Knightley, and countless television versions for the BBC and PBS\u2019 Masterpiece. More recently, Autumn de Wilde\u2019s candy-colored Emma (2020) introduced Austen to Gen Z audiences, while Netflix\u2019s Persuasion (2022), starring Dakota Johnson, proved the an enduring appetite for Austen\u2019s romantic worlds.<\/p>\n

\n\tHollywood isn\u2019t done with her either: several new projects are reportedly in development, with studios and streamers continuing to mine her works for fresh takes. A new remake of \u201cSense and Sensibility,\u201d <\/a>starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, is in the works at Focus Features.<\/p>\n
