A French official said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would travel for discussions with President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Monday (local time).<\/p>\n
Zelenskyy said that a team was on the way to the US to review the plan.<\/p>\n
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff will meet the Ukrainian delegation in Florida.<\/p>\n
But the talks come at a difficult moment for Zelenskyy and his administration.<\/p>\n
Russia has been advancing on the front line for over a year, while Zelenskyy\u2019s Government has faced pressure from a blockbuster corruption probe that forced him to sack his chief of staff.<\/p>\n
AFP journalists in Kyiv reported a night of intense explosions that kept many in the capital awake.<\/p>\n
In the morning, reporters saw burned-out cars and apartment buildings charred from fire.<\/p>\n
The strikes left more than 600,000 people nationwide without power, including 500,000 in Kyiv, the Energy Ministry said.<\/p>\n
Russia, which denies targeting civilians, says it struck energy infrastructure powering Ukraine\u2019s military-industrial complex.<\/p>\n
Ukraine says Russia\u2019s attacks are a cynical ploy to wear down its civilian population.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe main targets of the attack were energy infrastructure and civilian facilities, with extensive damage and fires in residential buildings,\u201d Zelenskyy said on X.<\/p>\n

Galyna Bondarenko, a Ukrainian media worker, told AFP in Kyiv that the explosion sent debris flying into her home.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was a piece of debris next to the bed, which hit the bed and got stuck,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Another resident, 43-year-old Natalia Shkoda, said the attacks set her and her husband\u2019s cars on fire.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe heard a very loud explosion … My husband said: \u2018Maybe it hit our car.\u2019 When I went outside, I saw it burning.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Ukrainian source claimed responsibility for attacks on two oil tankers in the Black Sea allegedly covertly transporting sanctioned Russian oil.<\/p>\n
The two ships, the Virat and the Kairos, were rocked by explosions off Turkey\u2019s coast late on Friday local time, according to the Turkish Transport Ministry. One of the two was struck twice, the ministry said.<\/p>\n
\u201cModernised Sea Baby naval drones successfully targeted the vessels,\u201d a source in Ukraine\u2019s SBU security service told AFP.<\/p>\n
The source shared a video that purported to show sea drones gliding towards the two ships, before sparking explosions.<\/p>\n
Russia launched its full-scale offensive in Ukraine in February 2022.<\/p>\n
Kyiv and its European allies say the conflict, the largest and deadliest on European soil since World War II, is an unprovoked and illegal land grab that has resulted in a tidal wave of violence and destruction.<\/p>\n
Tens of thousands of civilians and military personnel have been killed since the war began, while millions of Ukrainians have been forced to leave their homes.<\/p>\n
