It is understood to have been shut for weeks<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hawke\u2019s Bay Today has contacted the owner for comment.<\/p>\n

The company that operates the studio, Bai Mint Traditional Thai Massage & Beauty Care Ltd, was placed into liquidation by order of the High Court after an application by creditor Inland Revenue (IRD).<\/p>\n

According to the first liquidator\u2019s report, the company has liabilities of $198,000, most of which is owed to IRD.<\/p>\n

The sole director and shareholder of the company is Nutthaporn Thigtham.<\/p>\n

There were no assets listed in the first liquidator\u2019s report that could potentially go toward paying creditors.<\/p>\n

\u201cA full investigation will be undertaken into the company\u2019s records to identify any further assets that can be realised [or] any shareholders\u2019 current account balances that may be claimed,\u201d the report read.<\/p>\n

A sister Bai Mint Thai Massage studio was opened in Rotorua in 2017, but closed a few years ago after the Covid pandemic.<\/p>\n

That studio was operated by another company, Bai Mint Ltd, of which Thigtham was also a director. That company has not entered liquidation.<\/p>\n

The two Bai Mint Thai Massage studios in Napier and Rotorua boasted strong Tripadvisor ratings of 4.6 (out of 5), based on customer reviews.<\/p>\n

According to its 2025 annual report, the IRD referred 650 cases to the court for liquidation in the year to June \u2013 a 49% increase from the year prior, the NZ Herald reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It is understood to have been shut for weeks.
