Friend said the police can advise that the body found in Pukekohe on November 22 \u201chas been formally identified as Te Anihana Pomana\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs always, our thoughts and sympathies are with Te Anihana\u2019s wh\u0101nau and friends at this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said Pomana\u2019s death had been referred to the coroner.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old was last seen leaving the SkyCity Hotel in Auckland on August 21 and her last confirmed sighting was at 5.16am on Victoria St West outside Seven Poke Asian eatery, heading towards Victoria Park.<\/p>\n

Pomana\u2019s family have previously criticised police for the way they announced a body had been found.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe media releases were done without official confirmation with formal identification,\u201d a Facebook post linked to the family said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWh\u0101nau hadn\u2019t got the chance to inform many close to Te Anihana.<\/p>\n

\u201cApologies to anyone that has had to read and find this information out in this manner.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Givealittle page<\/a> set up to assist with the search for Pomana said her body would be brought to Dunedin once it was confirmed it was her body found in Pukekohe.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur new focus for this page,\u201d the page said. \u201cDonations will be used to cover these transportation and funeral costs.\u201c<\/p>\n

The missing woman\u2019s sister, Ebony Pomana, described the 25-year-old as a beautiful person who was a \u201cwell-educated and driven\u201d individual.<\/p>\n
