{"id":162331,"date":"2025-12-01T07:35:08","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T07:35:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/162331\/"},"modified":"2025-12-01T07:35:08","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T07:35:08","slug":"supercars-news-more-than-285000-attend-adelaide-grand-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/162331\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars news: More than 285,000 attend Adelaide Grand Final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/EV13-25-MH6_7375.jpg\" alt=\"Supercars draws largest Adelaide attendance since 2015\"\/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tChaz Mostert lofts the Supercars Championship trophy at the Adelaide Grand Final.<\/p>\n<p>It marks a decent uptick on the 2024 event, which in its former guise as the Adelaide 500 drew 259,000 spectators across four days.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s event was supplemented by a strong concert line-up, headlined by Lenny Kravitz and AC\/DC on Saturday and Sunday respectively.<\/p>\n<p>There was also the addition of the Red Bull Racing showcase, with two V8-powered RB7 Formula 1 cars doing demonstration laps and a speed comparison.<\/p>\n<p>Speedway also returned this year, but was rained out on Friday night. There was also supercross racing in the precinct.<\/p>\n<p>South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas hailed the Sunday crowd, estimated at 102,000 attendees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe couldn\u2019t be happier. It\u2019s the people of the state and the country that have backed the event that we\u2019re so grateful for,\u201d said the Premier before Sunday\u2019s Supercars race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very pleased to be able to report we\u2019ve got over 100,000 people at the track already today, which means there are more people at this event than the AFL grand final or the NRL grand final.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adelaide is set to continue hosting the Supercars Grand Final for the foreseeable future with a deal announced through 2034.<\/p>\n<p>Champion Chaz Mostert attributed some of the success to Supercars, but made special mention of AC\/DC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the crowd, 102,000 people through the gates on Sunday here, to just say that was all us as Supercar drivers is probably a little bold, but definitely having AC\/DC here was unbelievable,\u201d said Mostert on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow old are those guys, 70? To be that age and doing what they are doing, I tell you what, that is unbelievable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s so cool to see Supercars getting some of the most world class acts, maybe some of the best of our time to come along and play alongside Supercars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s so cool.
