\n\tWe knew Tommy Egan\u2019s origin story<\/a> would be among those told in Power: Origins<\/a>. Well, everyone originates with a mom, for better and for worse \u2014 especially in this case. <\/p>\n

\n\tOn Monday, Starz revealed it has cast Jennifer Ferrin in the role of young Kate Egan, Tommy\u2019s (pretty terrible) mom and Ghost\u2019s adoptive one. Power: Origins is the direct sequel to Power Book III: Raising Kanan.<\/p>\n

\n\tFerrin joins a call sheet that now includes the returning Jason Dirden as Traymont Stinson; he\u2019ll join Spence Moore as young Ghost, Charlie Mann (young Tommy) and MeKai Curtis, who continues from Power Book III: Raising Kanan in the title role of Kanan. Dirden\u2019s is a recurring role \u2014 the main guys are the main guys.<\/p>\n

\n\tOmari Hardwick played Ghost (real name James St. Patrick) on\u00a0Power; Joseph Sikora played Tommy.<\/p>\n

\n\tRounding out the new group of Power: Origins players are fellow recurring actors Lizzy DeClement as Jill Wexler, Lenny Platt as Lenny Seidell, Armani Gabriel as J-Boogs and Everett Osborne as Omay, a star tight end for the New York Jets, apparently.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe character descriptions from Starz are below:<\/p>\n

Kate Egan (Jennifer Ferrin): Tommy\u2019s mother Kate Egan is melodramatic, attention-seeking and manipulative, especially if she\u2019s using and desperate to get her hands on her next fix. Despite this, Tommy is fiercely devoted to her, taking care of her and trying to keep her clean.
\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jill Wexler (Lizzy DeClement): Smart, ambitious and sharp-tongued, Jill is a nurse at a local Queens hospital with big dreams to someday go to medical school. A recovering addict who has experienced a lot of heartbreak in her young life, she falls hard for Tommy but is also quick to call him on his bullshit and frequent idiocy.
\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lenny Seidell (Lenny Platt):\u00a0A charismatic, confident finance bro turned fitness entrepreneur who owns a handful of successful NYC gyms with ambitions to create a fitness empire. Lenny\u2019s business model relies heavily on providing steroids to his elite gym clientele and he\u2019s always looking for new partners.
\u00a0<\/p>\n

J-Boogs (Armani Gabriel): Sharp, street smart and scrappy, J-Boogs is a reliable foot soldier with a good eye for the game. He\u2019s one of Ghost and Tommy\u2019s most trusted corner boys.\u00a0
\u00a0<\/p>\n

Omay Moreau (Everett Osborne): A superstar tight end with the NY Jets and a generous friend to those in his inner circle, Omay invites his pals into an extravagant world of parties, hot women and hotter cars \u2014 all with no strings attached \u2014 or so it seems.
\u00a0<\/p>\n

Traymont Stinson (Jason Dirden): First introduced in Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Traymont was a once-trusted associate of the Thomas family who betrayed them.<\/p>\n

\n\tLionsgate Television\u2019s Power: Origins, the fourth spinoff in the Power franchise (and fifth series in all, counting the OG Power), will track Ghost, Tommy and Kanan as \u201cambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise, determined to make their mark on the streets of New York City.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSascha Penn will showrun and executive produce Power: Origins from a pilot he co-wrote with Courtney Kemp. The Power-universe series are executive produced by Kemp, the creator and showrunner of the original Power, through her production company, End of Episode. Curtis \u201c50 Cent\u201d Jackson executive produces through G-Unit Film and Television. Other EPs include Mark Canton (Canton Entertainment), Chris Selak, Kevin Fox and Pete Chatmon, who also directs.<\/p>\n

\n\tPower Book III: Raising Kanan will air its fifth and final season in 2026.
