Today, police revealed a second person had been charged with the murder of Whorrall, bringing the total number of those arrested in the wake of the brutal killing to three. <\/p>\n
Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin said the investigation renewed its focus in September after new evidence was discovered. <\/p>\n
A 17-year-old male has now been charged with murder and aggravated robbery and was due to appear in the Auckland Youth Court tomorrow. <\/p>\n

(Source: Facebook)<\/p>\n A 33-year-old woman was also charged with two counts of being an accessory after the fact to murder.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have advised Kyle\u2019s family in California of this significant development, and we continue to remain in contact with them as our investigation progresses,\u201d Baldwin said. <\/p>\n The homicide remains ongoing, and Baldwin said officers’ focus “will not waver in this case as we continue to ensure those who are responsible for Kyle\u2019s death face justice”. <\/p>\n “Whilst this is a significant development, it is not over.\u201d<\/p>\n Anyone with information about the case was asked to call police on 105. <\/p>\n In late September, police found a machete concealed in a reserve<\/a> about 4km away from the bus stop where Whorrall was killed. <\/p>\n Police uncovered the machete under vegetation in a Glen Innes reserve.
