We\u2026worked on this story for four years<\/a>\u2026and\u2026HBO just\u2026they tweeted it out. Well, really it was a press conference. Sam Levinson really laid out the set-up for Euphoria season 3<\/a> at a HBO Max presentation in London Wednesday. Rue is in Mexico, Cassie is stuck in the suburbs, and Maddy is in I Love LA<\/a>. Also, do we hear wedding bells? \u201cI will say that Cassie and Nate do in fact get married. I\u2019m confirming it,\u201d Levinson said, per Variety<\/a>. \u201cAnd I promise that it will be an unforgettable night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Euphoria season 3 takes place five years after the events of season 2. \u201cFive years felt like a natural place because if they\u2019d gone to college they\u2019d be out of college at that time,\u201d Levinson said. So this is the St. Elmo\u2019s Fire to seasons 1 and 2\u2019s Breakfast Club. He also gave very specific Where Are They Now clues for Rue (Zendaya<\/a>), Jules (Hunter Schafer<\/a>), Cassie (Sydney Sweeney<\/a>), Nate (Jacob Elordi<\/a>), Maddy (Alexa Demie<\/a>), and Lexi (Maude Apatow<\/a>). \u201cWe basically pick up Rue south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie, trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off,\u201d Levinson said. Jules is in art school for painting, and both Lexi and Maddy are in Hollywood. \u201cMaddy is working in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager, she\u2019s obviously got her own side hustles going,\u201d he said. And Lexi is an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, who is just absolutely delightful and a true icon.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the big surprise is that Nate and Cassie are still a thing. Feels unwise! \u201cCassie is living in the suburbs with Nate,\u201d Levinson said. \u201cThey\u2019re engaged, and she\u2019s very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time.\u201d Presumably Cassie and Nate\u2019s wedding will be where all these separate plotlines converge in one big fucked up high school reunion. Will Lexi be a bridesmaid? Will Maddy? JK. We\u2019ll find out when Euphoria comes to HBO April 2026.<\/p>\n
