The payment app said it was working on a fix. <\/p>\n<p>Venmo said it was working to fix an issue affecting the payment app Wednesday night after thousands of users reported encountering problems.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re aware that some users are experiencing issues with Venmo right now,&#8221; Venmo said in a post to X. &#8220;Our team is working on a fix, and we&#8217;ll update you as soon as it&#8217;s resolved. Thanks for your patience.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Reports spiked Wednesday evening on <a href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.com\/status\/venmo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">DownDetector<\/a>, a website that tracks outages by user reports. Some reported issues logging in, transferring funds or using the Venmo debit card linked to their accounts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The app allows users to send money to other users and transfer funds in and out of bank accounts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Peer-to-peer payment apps have exploded in popularity in the last decade. Venmo had 92 million active users as of last year. It has been owned by PayPal since 2013.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#8217;re aware that some users are experiencing issues with Venmo right now.
