WESTERN Australia\u2019s newest circuit in Albany is one step closer to reality, following the completion of the opening stage of track surfacing.<\/p>\n

Known as Albany Motorsport Park, the first 1.09km-long, 12m-wide north circuit section has been laid, with the short track envisaged to form the cornerstone of an overall 3.25km layout.<\/p>\n

Completed by Phoenix Civil and Earthmoving, the 40mm asphalt layer sets the tone for the second stage of construction, which is slated to feature a full pit lane and paddock area.<\/p>\n

To date, the venture has received funding from both the Western Australian and federal governments<\/a>; however, it requires further backing to realise the entire plan for the facility.<\/p>\n

Included in the project\u2019s overall scope are a drift training area, a 4WD\/ATV training area, and significant infrastructure.<\/p>\n

It is envisioned that the park will host a wide range of motoring and community events.<\/p>\n

The venue is currently seeking volunteers to assist with the operation of the facility, which already includes an operational motocross track.<\/p>\n

Circuits in Western Australia have been in the news recently, with plans uncovered for the new Perth Supercars layout, which is set to come online for the 2028 season<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Carco.com.au Raceway has rebranded as Motormall Wanneroo Raceway.<\/a><\/p>\n
