Ice Spice is opening up about her friendship with Taylor Swift<\/p>\n

The rapper spoke to ‘Nylon’ for the outlet’s latest cover story<\/p>\n

“The thing about Taylor is that she keeps it so real,” said Ice<\/p>\n

The friendship is strong between Ice Spice<\/a> and Taylor Swift<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old rapper is on the latest cover of <\/a>Nylon<\/a> and opened up in the interview about her friendship with Swift, 35, with whom she’s collaborated on the “Karma” remix and attended several events \u2014 including two Super Bowls.<\/p>\n

“The thing about Taylor is that she keeps it so real,” said Ice. “Not even kidding, but one of the biggest things that I always think about that Taylor said is ‘As long as you keep making music, everything\u2019s going to be fine.'”<\/p>\n

She noted, however, that their conversations aren’t always centered around work: “Every time we hang out, she\u2019s not just giving me advice, you know what I mean? We\u2019re talking about the food we\u2019re eating or whatever\u2019s going on in the moment.”<\/p>\n

But conversations with Swift mean a lot to Ice. “Whenever I\u2019m feeling doubtful or not as confident, having writer\u2019s block no matter what it is, things like that really, really stand out to me,” she explained. “She said that to me a few years ago, and it still stood with me.”<\/p>\n

Last year, Ice opened up about their friendship in a Rolling Stone cover story<\/a> and why she finds it “rude” when people think they spend time together for clout.<\/p>\n

“Why would she not want to be my friend?\u201d she said at the time. “Taylor f—- with me. She\u2019s so funny. I think our personalities mesh really well.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

She also told Rolling Stone how the “Karma” remix \u2014 which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 \u2014 came to be. During a studio session, she received a call from her manager and worried it’d be “bad news,” since “he usually texts.”<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s like, \u2018Taylor Swift has a record for you to get on from her album.\u2019 I\u2019m playing it cool on the phone. I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s cool. Super cool.\u2019 And then I hang up the phone and I\u2019m hysterically crying,” detailed Ice.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m in my walk-in closet, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Bro, this is not real life.\u2019 Riot definitely filmed it,” she added. “That\u2019ll probably be in a documentary one day.”<\/p>\n

In the same Rolling Stone cover story, Swift spoke about Ice. “I love when I meet a new artist who takes a keen interest in not just the music, but the music industry and how it works,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ve seen how our industry tries to convince artists that they\u2019re better off just being creative and making music and letting the labels and the management do the rest.”<\/p>\n

Swift continued: “Seeing Ice lean into the strategic, financial, and business aspects of her career is really exciting for me. The more artists learn about the inner workings of the music industry, the more power they can have in their creative world. I knew based on the questions she asked and the observations she made that she didn\u2019t just want to be a passenger in her own career. She wanted to be the driver of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
