Some people say that honesty is the best policy, though in Quentin Tarantino\u2019s case, he may want to choose his words more carefully. During a recent interview on The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast<\/a>, Tarantino revealed his Top 10 movies of the 21st Century<\/a>. However, alongside the reveal, he admitted that even some of his favorite films contain performances from actors he can\u2019t stand, including Paul Dano<\/a> in Paul Thomas Anderson\u2019s There Will Be Blood. Tarantino caught heat for his opinion from fans, filmmakers, and critics alike. Still, he\u2019s not finished taking more actors to task. While speaking at GalaxyCon in Columbus, Ohio (via\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/a>), Matthew Lillard reacted to Tarantino saying, \u201cI don\u2019t care for Matthew Lillard\u201d during Easton\u2019s podcast.<\/p>\n

What was Matthew Lillard\u2019s reaction to Tarantino\u2019s hurtful words?<\/p>\n

\u201cQuentin Tarantino this week said he didn\u2019t like me as an actor,\u201d the Scream and Five Nights at Freddy\u2019s actor said to fans. Rightfully so, the crowd booed at the idea of the man they\u2019d come to see getting picked on by the Pulp Fiction director. \u201cEh, whatever. Who gives a shit,\u201d Lillard continued.<\/p>\n

While Lillard appeared to shrug off Tarantino\u2019s words, he added that the filmmaker\u2019s words did sting. \u201cIt hurts your feelings. It fucking sucks,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd you wouldn\u2019t say that to Tom Cruise. You wouldn\u2019t say that to somebody who\u2019s a top-line actor in Hollywood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the situation, Lillard said Tarantino\u2019s hurtful words remind him that the love he gets from a room full of adoring fans won\u2019t always be the way people react throughout the industry. \u201cI\u2019m very popular in this room. I\u2019m not very popular in Hollywood,\u201d Lillard said. \u201cTwo totally different microcosms, right? And so, you know, it\u2019s humbling, and it hurts.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Lillard comes to terms with Tarantino\u2019s hurtful summary of his ability to light up screens, people are still reeling from the filmmaker\u2019s comments about Paul Dano, who\u2019s considered by many to be an exceptional actor.<\/p>\n

What did Tarantino say about Paul Dano?<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, it\u2019s supposed to be a two-hander. But it\u2019s also drastically obvious that it\u2019s not a two-hander,\u201d Tarantino said about Dano in There Will Be Blood. \u201c[Dano] is weak sauce, man. He is the weak sister. [Daniel] is eating him [alive]. Austin Butler would have been wonderful in that role. He\u2019s just such a weak, weak, uninteresting guy. Daniel Day-Lewis shows that he doesn\u2019t need a strong foil. The movie needs it. He doesn\u2019t need anything. It\u2019s supposed to be a two-hander and it\u2019s not! \u2026 you put him with the weakest fucking actor in SAG? The limpest dick in the world?\u201d<\/p>\n
