The source of Mowday\u2019s condition has not been determined, however, Rod said doctors suspect she is suffering from toxic shock syndrome, a bacterial infection.<\/p>\n
Rod, who flew to Vietnam to care for his sister, told news.com.au it was \u201cheartbreaking\u201d to see his sister in an induced coma.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s on dialysis, had to have a blood transfusion and is on certain drugs to bring her blood pressure back to normal,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt got so low her feet and fingers turned black.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rod said doctors have advised Mowday has a better chance of recovering in Australia and he has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to help cover the costs of getting the process underway.<\/p>\n
An air ambulance service he \u201chas on standby\u201d requires A$125,000 ($143,000) to be paid upfront before flying.<\/p>\n
The family are also understood to be exploring options such as bank loans and super access to support with the increasing medical bills.<\/p>\n
Rod has also contacted the Australian Embassy in Vietnam and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for additional advice and support, such as liaising with hospitals and local authorities.<\/p>\n
Rod, who has returned to his home in Perth, said \u201cChloe is getting stronger every day\u201d and \u201cdoctors are trying their best to fight it\u201d.<\/p>\n
He said he was grateful to everyone who had donated towards the A$18,000 raised so far.<\/p>\n
