The latest person to join the jury<\/a> in the current season of \u201cSurvivor<\/a>\u201d has explained what led to her being voted out \u2014 at least in her opinion. Sophie Segreti<\/a> has opened up about what went wrong for her on season 49<\/a> and what she would do differently if given the opportunity to play again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sophie Segreti Details Reason For Her Elimination\u00a0<\/p>\n

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly<\/a> following her elimination from season 49 of \u201cSurvivor,\u201d Segreti revealed that she felt that not having a super close ally was the main reason that she was voted out of the show.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When asked by the interviewer about not having a ride or die like Rizo<\/a> and other players in the reality television series<\/a>, Segreti was quick to agree that this was a major issue with her gameplay. \u201cThat is exactly the biggest critique I have of my game,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I think especially when you are a physical competitive player, yes, you need that ride or die.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cYou need somebody watching your back because you will always be an easy vote. And honestly, at a time I thought it was MC<\/a> early on at Hina. We didn\u2019t get a ton of screen time because of how it works. We\u2019re winning, so they don\u2019t really show the winning tribes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I felt like MC and I were quite close, especially when she let me in early on that there was a secondary alignment alliance within Hina forming without me. They wanted me out, so on and so forth. And so I thought we were quite tight. I honestly think I ended up being kind of third on everyone\u2019s list for some reason. I didn\u2019t go hard enough socially early on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Segreti Didn\u2019t Play The Social Game Well<\/p>\n

According to Segreti, she got off to a bad start in terms of the social game and never recovered to a position where she was able to build a strong alliance<\/a> with other players. This was largely a result of her not wanting to appear too keen, which might have been viewed with suspicion \u2014 although she admits that this was clearly a mistake.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Segreti explains, \u201cI didn\u2019t go hard enough socially early on because I was worried about seeming too eager and playing too hard. And I think that\u2019s what ended up biting me in the end because MC was more loyal to Steven<\/a> than she was to me. And at a point I thought that Sage<\/a> and I were getting quite close. Again, she was the one who told me that Jawan flipped in the MC vote. So I feel like Sage and I were developing that bond, but again, her No. 1 was Jawan.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I think where my game really went awry was not playing harder socially early on and locking in a true ride or die number one. Instead, I feel like I was like trying to keep my options open and be friends with lots of people, and it was a little bit of jack of all trades, master of none in that situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
