The Ford Mustangs have undergone a series of aerodynamic tweaks ahead of The Bend 500 following a review of track data that showed a straightline speed disparity.<\/p>\n

It marks the first aero change approved by Supercars since both the Mustang and Camaro underwent wind tunnel testing in the United States over the 2023\/24 off-season.<\/p>\n

Both Ford and GM representatives signed-off on the changes ahead of The Bend, but not all are happy with the outcome.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t understand why they spend \u2018gajillions\u2019 of dollars on wind tunnel testing and engine dynos and then mid-season we start playing with it again,\u201d said Xiberras. \u201cI\u2019m a bit confused.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked if he\u2019d voiced his displeasure with Supercars, Xiberras added: \u201cYou don\u2019t sort of get a voice because they just dropped it on us yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Triple Eight has also pointed towards changing the wind tunnel spec as a concern in a diplomatic response as it prepares to switch to Ford for 2026.<\/a><\/p>\n

Triple Eight\u2019s concern following Ford parity changes<\/a><\/p>\n

While Triple Eight has dominated much of the season and comfortably leads the teams\u2019 championship, Matt Stone Racing is the only other GM team to win a race this year.<\/p>\n

PremiAir sits ninth in the teams\u2019 championship with drivers James Golding and Richie Stanaway buried down in 15th and 20th in the drivers\u2019 standings.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe word I\u2019d use is a little disappointed,\u201d said Xiberras about his squad\u2019s 2025 results to date.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the effort we\u2019ve probably put in I think we\u2019ve underperformed to this point. We\u2019ve just got to work harder and find a bit more.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone has improved a lot more than what we have and it\u2019s hard to put your finger on the problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

PremiAir\u2019s response to its struggle is expected to include a double driver change, with Jayden Ojeda and Declan Fraser set to slot into the team\u2019s Camaros.<\/a><\/p>\n

Xiberras for now insists the team won\u2019t lock in its line-up until after the Bathurst 1000.<\/p>\n

\u201cTraditionally we\u2019ll make an announcement between Bathurst and probably Gold Coast,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the beauties of the endurance rounds is there\u2019s a smorgasbord of young and upcoming talent.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, for us as team owners and engineers and everyone involved, it\u2019s a great opportunity for people to shine, so we\u2019ll be eagerly watching the next two rounds and that\u2019s probably why teams like us will make decisions after Bathurst and work out which direction we\u2019re going to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

The team is also yet to confirm it\u2019ll stay with GM next season. While the team is a current customer of Triple Eight, PremiAir is expected to remain in the Camaro camp.<\/p>\n
