Franks had seen the band a few times while he was living in England and said gig-goers in Napier can expect a lot of audience interaction.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey don\u2019t write set lists, so it\u2019s all up to the audience to ask them what to play next.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re a fully live band, so they\u2019re interacting with each other, they\u2019re interacting with the audience, and they\u2019ve got a lot of very fun, lively songs.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, despite the band\u2019s large output of five studio albums, two live albums and 26 singles \u2013 Wheatus are really known for their one hit, Teenage Dirtbag.<\/p>\n
But Franks said there was no need to worry about the band not playing their biggest hit in Napier.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think they could do the gig without it.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe people would ask them to play it anyway, but I don\u2019t think that they wouldn\u2019t even attempt not to play it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Franks has a simple suggestion for anyone keen to see Wheatus in Napier – get your tickets now before they sell out.<\/p>\n
\u201cPaisley Stage only holds about 200, so it\u2019s going to be a nice, intimate, tight gig,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, get your tickets before they sell out because it will sell out.\u201d<\/p>\n
Opening for Wheatus is local band Yes Yes No, who Frost said will bring their own particular brand of obscure but fun covers.<\/p>\n
