It is the latest in a number of actions being brought against tech companies as creatives fight for legal protections for intellectual property in the AI era.<\/p>\n<p>It claims one or more of the authors\u2019 \u201cinfringed\u201d works were used to train Apple\u2019s large language models (LLMs), and therefore \u201cdirectly infringed [the authors\u2019] copyrights\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApple has not attempted to pay these authors for their contributions to this potentially lucrative venture,\u201d the filing continues. \u201cApple did not seek licences to copy and use the copyrighted books provided to its models.
