There’s a new drama making a splash on Netflix this Christmas season<\/a>. Launching with barely a ripple, Ripple (see what we did there) hit the streaming service last week to little hype and fanfare. <\/p>\n

But the drama has quietly moved up Netflix’<\/a>s UK chart, becoming the eighth most-watched title on the platform. <\/p>\n

The series stars Frankie Faison (The Wire), Julia Chan (Saving Hope), and Ian Harding (Pretty Little Liars<\/a>). It follows four New York City strangers whose lives “unexpectedly intertwine in ways that change them forever”.<\/p>\n

Those who have already tuned into Ripple have been enthralled by the series, which has garnered positive audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> and favourable comparisons to This Is Us<\/a>. <\/p>\n

One viewer wrote: “This is the type of series that fills a void television has had for a long time. Not since This Is Us have I felt this way about a series. Love these characters and I binged all 8 episodes. It’s terrific, a must see!”<\/p>\n

Another added: “The characters, the stories, the backdrop, the heartache, the laughs\u2026.all make to make for a perfect series. Much like This is Us, this series intertwines the lives of strangers in NYC who become family. Like a good book, I hated for it to end. Praying for Season 2!”<\/p>\n

Speaking to What’sOnNetflix<\/a>, the show’s creator Michele Giannusa revealed that she has a lot more stories to tell and even knows exactly how she wants Ripple to end.<\/p>\n

“When the show started in development, I had five seasons in my pocket. I\u2019ve always had five seasons in my pocket,” Giannusa said. <\/p>\n

“I won\u2019t tell you, but I know exactly what the very last shot of the last episode looks like. I really, really hope we can keep telling these stories.”<\/p>\n

Ripple is available to stream now on Netflix worldwide.<\/p>\n
