Josh Papalii is set to continue his NRL career in the nation\u2019s capital, with the resurgent Raiders legend inking a one-year deal with Canberra. <\/p>\n

Heading into 2025, the smart money was on Papalii either retiring at the end of the season or heading to the Super League.<\/p>\n

However, the most-capped Raider of all time enjoyed a terrific 2025 campaign for the table-topping Raiders, which included a recall into the Origin arena. <\/p>\n

Papalli\u2019s new deal has been announced as the prop is under an injury cloud for this Sunday\u2019s qualifying final against the Broncos.<\/p>\n

An ankle injury has Papalii in doubt to take his place for the blockbuster.<\/p>\n

Via a club-issued statement, Papalii says it\u2019s an \u201chonour\u201d to stay a Raider for one more season. <\/p>\n

\u201cCanberra has been a massive part of my life for the last 16-17 years, and to extend for one more year is such an honour,\u201d Papalii said. <\/p>\n

\u201cI just want to keep performing and show people why I\u2019m staying on for another year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely been a year to remember for myself, with being recalled into Origin and winning there and then the milestone of being the most-capped Raider. That means a lot to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Raiders coach Ricky Stuart credited the influence the \u201cinspirational\u201d Papalii has had on the club and the young forwards coming through.<\/p>\n

\u201cJosh will already go down as one of the greatest ever players to wear a Raiders jersey, and he deserves another year playing for the club which he loves,\u201d Stuart said.<\/p>\n

\u201cJosh has had a fantastic season for us, and his efforts on the field and his leadership off it made it an easy decision to sign him for another year.\u201d<\/p>\n
