{"id":179978,"date":"2025-12-12T09:38:12","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T09:38:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/179978\/"},"modified":"2025-12-12T09:38:12","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T09:38:12","slug":"forestry-giants-pf-olsen-forestry360-to-merge-adamantem-takes-a-stake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/179978\/","title":{"rendered":"Forestry giants PF Olsen, Forestry360 to merge, Adamantem takes a stake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ZYUOfoYRjneFbDGdUm\" style=\"display:none\">Existing executives will lead the merged entity, with Forest360\u2019s managing director Dan Gaddum being appointed Group CEO, PF Olsen\u2019s CEO Ross Larcombe appointed group chief commercial officer and Forest360\u2019s Marcus Musson appointed group chief operating officer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZYUOfoYRjneFbDGdUm\" style=\"display:none\">Gaddum said the business would cater to clients across the entire forest management value chain \u2013 from seed orchards and nurseries through to harvest management, forest management, and consulting services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZYUOfoYRjneFbDGdUm\" style=\"display:none\">Adamantem is investing through its Environmental Opportunities Fund, which aims to invest in companies that support the transition to a net-zero economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZYUOfoYRjneFbDGdUm\" style=\"display:none\">PF Olsen manages forestry estates for a wide range of different clients.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZYUOfoYRjneFbDGdUm\" style=\"display:none\">In 2022, Quayside Holdings \u2013 the investment vehicle for the Bay of Plenty Regional Council \u2013 bought 44% of PF Olsen from private equity firm Direct Capital, which had been a shareholder for 11 years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZYUOfoYRjneFbDGdUm\" style=\"display:none\">PF Olsen, which has been around for more than 50 years, also has a large operation in Australia, managing 212,000ha.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZYUOfoYRjneFbDGdUm\" style=\"display:none\">Forest360, formerly known as FOMS, was established in 2004 by Mike Bartells and Peter Gresham after Fletcher Challenge Forests\u2019 break-up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZYUOfoYRjneFbDGdUm\" style=\"display:none\">The merger is expected to be completed by February next year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ZYUOfoYRjneFbDGdUm\" style=\"display:none\">Jamie Gray is an Auckland-based journalist, covering the financial markets, the primary sector and energy.
