An Uber spokesperson has said they \u201care aware of a planned protest involving some drivers at various locations across NZ, including some airports. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe are in communication with those airports and are working to reduce the impact on riders as much as possible.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe regularly engage with our driver partners and will continue to work with them to understand any concerns.\u201d <\/p>\n
Two major sporting events are taking place in Auckland and Wellington on Saturday, and the strike is likely to impact spectators. <\/p>\n
The All Blacks play the Springboks at Sky Stadium in Wellington, with kickoff at 7.05pm for a near-capacity crowd in their final Rugby Championship match against South Africa.<\/p>\n
In Auckland, the Warriors play the Penrith Panthers at Go Media Stadium for their second home final fixture in two years in front of a sold-out crowd.<\/p>\n

Auckland traffic was already taking a hit on Saturday because of a partial closure of the harbour bridge for a march across it by pro-Palestinian protesters.<\/p>\n
Southbound traffic from Auckland\u2019s North Shore on the Northern Motorway wasn\u2019t going to be able to cross the bridge from 9am. <\/p>\n
However, the harbour bridge march has now been postponed because of high wind, with a new route starting at Aotea Square and finishing at Victoria Park.<\/p>\n
NZTA has also confirmed that the Auckland Harbour Bridge will be open to southbound traffic all day.<\/p>\n
