President Emmanuel Macron <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/france-pension-reform-suspended-health-care-budget-63eed2ffe11ecd9103f3954d8befd6b8\" class=\"styles_linkEmbed__SNmaX\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">wants to raise the retirement age to 64<\/a>, the EU average, but the move is staggeringly unpopular despite France\u2019s deficit being the worst in western Europe. <\/p>\n<p>Lecornu agreed to delay the reform until 2027, after the next presidential election.
