\u201cA man walking up to a gunman who had fired on the community and single-handedly disarming him, putting his own life in danger to save the lives of others.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI have no doubt that there are many, many people alive tonight as a result of his bravery.\u201d<\/p>\n
Australian Prime Minister Albanese said, \u201cWe have seen Australians today run towards danger, to help others.\u201d<\/p>\n
He last night described the attack as an act of \u201cevil anti-Semitism\u201d.<\/p>\n
Within hours of the mass shooting, it was deemed an act of terrorism and the National Security Committee had been convened. <\/p>\n
More than 1000 people were believed to have attended the event, which marked the first night of Chanukah.<\/p>\n
\u201cAustralians have had their lives cruelly stolen.\u201d<\/p>\n
Minns said the attack was a \u201cterrible night for Sydney\u201d.<\/p>\n
One of the two gunmen believed to have gunned down those from the Jewish community event is among those dead, New South Wales Police confirmed.<\/p>\n

The other suspect in the shootings was in a critical condition and New South Wales Commissioner of Police Mal Lanyon said authorities were probing the involvement of a third person.<\/p>\n
A member of the local Jewish community told a Herald reporter on the scene there were bodies all over the ground.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir blood is your blood – we all come from the same cloth. It\u2019s just as painful for me as it is for everyone.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t even have words. I can\u2019t articulate how I feel right now,\u201d the woman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is my home. I\u2019ve been here my whole life,\u201d said the woman, who wished to remain anonymous.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are good people. No one deserves this. No community group deserves this.\u201d<\/p>\n
